As long as you realize you are paying a bit extra for really nice stuff and a brick and mortar location you can go back to, then have at it. Checkout can get a bit bogged down but at least you can look at all the pretty colorful impulse buys as you wait to pay.

He helped me find a replacement item and clearly explained the ski gear. He also explained the services they offer with ski bindings, clearly and kindly. I know nothing on this topic, so I really appreciate how he treated me kindly. He was excellent and education. I will be back.

Josh Johnson: Awesome climbing gym with a lot of route options! They have both auto-belay and top rope options. They also have a room dedicated to bouldering and a great assortment of fitness equipment to get in a good workout. Friendly staff and a great community of climbers. Plus, there is a decent selection of climbing gear and a nice space up front to hang out or rest in between climbs.

Mason Mueller: Great climbing gym! Lots of ways to train. Weight room, rotating climbing wall, moon board, ice climbing, multi pitch practice, rappelling, bouldering, hangboard. Don't forgot the 12 foot roof!
Kevin Greene: Our kids are loving it, and as a former climber myself, I'm loving what they are learning. They don't just clip into an auto belay here, they need to learn the proper knots and belaying technique and the /responsibility/ for someone else's safety.

Overall, we love supporting and working with such a lovely and socially progressive/active community.

Kim is the best instructor!

Erik Woll: Top quality outdoor gear for anything from fly fishing to dog training, hiking and hunting all there... but obviously the main attraction is the fly fishing equipment. This shop has a top notch fly selection and a staff that stays up-to-date on what flys are hot when.If you find yourself in Milwaukee and need anything fly fishing from waders and boots to simple advice this is a pretty solid stop.

Leslie Carver: What a wonderful place. I have three kids and this is by far the best place for all three of their ages. I loved the retro games and pinballs and shooting my kids in Lazer tag. My little one loves the bounce houses and play structure and I loved i could in too. Food was good, we only had the pizza but some of the other options looked good. Rockwall, axe throwing and a bar. I am pretty sure my kids could spend all day there. Staff was great too.

Mel Brousseau: Went in on a Saturday afternoon to buy new running shoes, and the place was super busy! After a bit of a wait, I was attended to by a very helpful sales person who had me show him my walk and do a short run on a treadmill, which was recorded for analysis. After learning more about why I was there and what I was looking for, he gave me four different shoes to try on. He was very knowledgeable and honest about each brand, without pressure or bias. I left with a pair I was extremely happy with! Good running shoes are definitely an investment, so it was great to go someplace that felt as invested in my runs as I did!

Dennis Ellmaurer: My doctor recommended I consider buying a pair of Hoka running shoes. My doctor is a long distance runner, having recently completed his fourth rim-to-rim run of the Grand Canyon. He also recommended Performance Outfitters.I went to the Performance Outfitters store in Shorewood and was greeted by Eden, who offered to help me with my shoe selection. We were able to narrow the choice down to the Hoka Bondi 7. Unfortunately, the store and other Performance locations did not have this particular shoe in stock.Eden checked further and found that the store was unable to order the shoe directly from Hoka. They were backordered and experiencing supply chain issues.Eden checked even further and found the shoe available direct and in stock on the Hoka web site. She told me the best option would be to order the shoe on line, directly from Hoka.Eden also told me it was the store's philosophy not to attempt to switch prospective customers into a different shoe...one that might be in stock in the store. She apologized for being unable to fulfil my Hoka shoe requirement. I ordered it online, as Eden suggested.My five star review is based on my unique experience with Performance Running Outfitters and Eden. The organization and Eden, in particular, were more interested in my overall satisfaction than making a quick sale. Thank you.

I recently purchased a used endurance bike from Facebook Marketplace, and while I had some concerns that I may have gotten myself in over my head, I figured that I had gotten a pretty good deal, as I had done quite a bit of research on modern bikes, and this particular model and style beforehand. It was clear to me from a test ride, that this bike was at the least in need of a tune up, I personally hated the saddle, and I wanted some optional accessories like a lock, air pump, etc. When I visited South Shore, I spoke with their mechanic, Terry. Terry listened to my story, gave the bike a quick examination, and recommended the basic tune up service. He did not try to oversell me on parts and services I didn't need, and I think he felt the bike was in better shape than I thought. When it came to the changes I wanted to make, he discussed my options, gave his insight, and never tried to rush me. He was knowledgeable about the products, gave his opinion, and respected mine. I had requested the return of my old parts when my bike was ready, they understood, and had everything prepared for me. Lastly, when I did go to pick up my bike, Steve spent time answering my questions about presta valves, tire pressure, and helping me to find the correct fit with the installation of my new seat and pedals. Sometimes being a repeat customer says it all. I'll be bringing my old bike here to replace the drive train. I felt this crew really cared about putting me on a bike I was happy with, not just selling me a different bike. Whether you want to buy a new bike, service your old bike, or pick up a quality used bike, give South Shore a look.

They've helped me keep everything from a 1950s Schwinn, through a 1980s French built tandem, to modern full suspension mountain bikes up and running. It feels like the store is run by cycling enthusiasts not salespeople. They've never looked down at me when I'm looking for parts or advice on some old thing I picked up. The associate at the entrance briefs us about the rules and the regulations to not touch the vehicles or seat on them. Some of the vehicles in one section can be touched and sit on it to experience it. A good opportunity to read about the motorcycle evolution across the globe 🌏. A good opportunity to understand the journey of this company Harley Davidson. Overall a good experience.
