No pressure to buy an extended warranty, but I actually did end up getting one; I rarely buy extended coverage on anything I purchase, but in this case the price and coverage actually made sense to me. Johnny DeLap: I have been riding bikes since I was 8 years old, I had sold my bike 6 years ago, and I was so anxious to finally get back out there. I was looking for a Shadow because I know they are reliable and I like the look of them. I searched the internet and found what I thought was the perfect bike, I went to look at it and it didn't have a scratch on it, the bike had hardly any miles on it, and it was priced right. I put some money down and came back a couple days later for a test drive. The bike had a afterfire issue, but I figured it was something that could be resolved so I bought the bike anyways. The issue seemed to get worse so I contacted Luke, and he told me they would do what they could. They had the bike for a couple weeks, and let me know it was done. I went to pick it up, but it still had the problem, Luke offered to buy the bike back, and I thought that was a stand up thing to do, considering the fact they didn't have too, the bike was used. I am disappointed that I now don't have a bike to ride, but sometimes things like this are just meant to be. I just wanted to give Luke a shout out and tell him how grateful I am that he let me out of this deal, and ask him to forgive me for being such a pain in the customer. I really wish the issue could have been resolved with the bike, my wife and I were looking forward to getting some travel in this summer.

K.W. Bernoska: Sturdy and reliable mid-range fixie.Shopped local for my everyday commuter bike. They don’t list the Eastside on the website any longer—and it seems like they are making the pivot to road bikes. It would be worthwhile to pick one up while they are still around.Wabi Bicycles, All City, Milwaukee Bicycle Co. and Surly might offer a better build but for over twice the price.The Eastside I bought with my stimulus check has gotten me through Uber Eats delivery—paid for itself—and now to work each day on my 2 mile commute.These are popular bikes, and you’ll see Fyxation bikes most places you go in Milwaukee.

Jacob Rindfleisch: Got a Pixel 7 from them. This is the best bike I’ve ever owned. Comfortable, easy assembly, smooth ride. It was supposed to ship August 30th but I got it on October 9th. It’s not really their fault. They were waiting on the manufacturer, it’s Covid, there’s just a shortage on all commodities right now. I emailed them twice about my order status and they responded within a few hours with an update. Fantastic shop. Fantastic customer service. Highly recommend. They deserve all of the rave reviews.

Nossy Drelich: This is an awesome place to get your bikes fixed! My niece needed her bike tires fixed as well as a headstand. Another bike place said it would be three weeks due to the virus and it would cost 70. This place did it in half an hour, and said that the bike just needed new tunes, not a whole tire, and they charged 40. Very friendly and responsive staff.
Kyle Kleinbeck: Fyxation is an excellent homegrown company that is highly supportive of MKE's bike community. The staff are extremely helpful and their branded products are also excellent quality. As a bike commuter in NYC when I lived there, a pair of fyxation's lightly treaded road tires would last me 3-4 times as long as Gatorskins for serious urban riding on dry or wet pavement. They can even handle a little bit of soft or packed snow surprisingly well.

Small oil leak also. After a short discussion, we agreed on cost of carb cleaning/tuning. After a couple weeks i got it back & she was like a new beast. Performing like it was new! No oil leak. I purchased a Yamaha from them but waited forever for shipping due to the lock up in the ports. Throughout the entire time Jake stayed in contact giving me updates. When it finally came in being a new rider, Jake walked me through expectations, maintanance of the bike, even how to load and tie it down to the rental trailer. They have my future business.Edit: It's 2023, and Milwaukee Motorwerks helped me out once again with an issue. I ended up using the opportunity to replace the valve covers on my supercharged XJ, and they worked with me to minimize cost impact. During the process they kept me up to date, and while it took a fair amount of time, they took the time to do really quality work which is all that matters to me.

Although I sold the vehicle after and did not move forward, my experience was good and the shop came highly recommended. There was some miscommunication regarding another service where one opinion against another, both personal, conflicted but opinions bare no relevance to service and quality of what was actually performed. I recently purchased a used endurance bike from Facebook Marketplace, and while I had some concerns that I may have gotten myself in over my head, I figured that I had gotten a pretty good deal, as I had done quite a bit of research on modern bikes, and this particular model and style beforehand. It was clear to me from a test ride, that this bike was at the least in need of a tune up, I personally hated the saddle, and I wanted some optional accessories like a lock, air pump, etc. When I visited South Shore, I spoke with their mechanic, Terry. Terry listened to my story, gave the bike a quick examination, and recommended the basic tune up service. He did not try to oversell me on parts and services I didn't need, and I think he felt the bike was in better shape than I thought. When it came to the changes I wanted to make, he discussed my options, gave his insight, and never tried to rush me. He was knowledgeable about the products, gave his opinion, and respected mine. I had requested the return of my old parts when my bike was ready, they understood, and had everything prepared for me. Lastly, when I did go to pick up my bike, Steve spent time answering my questions about presta valves, tire pressure, and helping me to find the correct fit with the installation of my new seat and pedals. Sometimes being a repeat customer says it all. I'll be bringing my old bike here to replace the drive train. I felt this crew really cared about putting me on a bike I was happy with, not just selling me a different bike. Whether you want to buy a new bike, service your old bike, or pick up a quality used bike, give South Shore a look.

They've helped me keep everything from a 1950s Schwinn, through a 1980s French built tandem, to modern full suspension mountain bikes up and running. It feels like the store is run by cycling enthusiasts not salespeople. They've never looked down at me when I'm looking for parts or advice on some old thing I picked up.
