Braise Restaurant & Culinary School: what do users think?

Morgan S: Stopped in at Braise last night with a friend for the 3-course dinner! You won’t find better ingredients or a better deal. It is truly a one of a kind dining experience and the food is AMAZING—not to mention generously portioned. From start to finish you get a choice between two delicious appetizers, two main course items, and choice between two desserts. This was my second time to Braise and I look forward to coming back. I had the mushroom risotto and highly recommend it. The waitstaff and bartenders are very friendly and add to the overall experience. Perfect for date night with the hubby, or drinks with your girlfriends!

Angela Zuniga: Great service every time we dine in! Perfect date night or even our larger girls nights out are always a hit when we dine at Braise. The waitstaff makes sure we are well taken care of and and is knowledgeable about the food they are serving. They accommodate our many dietary restrictions and the food is always fresh and delicious! Easily the best date night spot in Milwaukee. A must visit.

Liz Fiene: First time having Xiao long bao and I have never had anything like this before! It was my favorite item we tried of the night, would definitely have again if it appeared back on the menu. I love that the ingredients are local and the menu rotates to bring me out of my comfort zone and try new things. Since m still exploring and determining what flavors I like/don’t like, I enjoy that the bartenders can make me something with just some personal input and some questions. I’ve only been here during the winter season but I am looking forward to patio season and I hope they have the patio/rooftop open in addition to their normal seating once summer hits! I just signed up for their tamales cooking class in May and I am looking forward to seeing this side of the restaurant next!

Megan Fiene: I love coming to Braise and eating in the bar area. Their booths and candle lights give a cozy atmosphere and can make a perfect date night. Sit at the bar to enjoy fun conversations and witness Flan and Evan crafting up the amazing cocktails behind the bar. Even if you don’t see a drink on the menu that catches your eyes, they can make anything you are feeling or give them the freedom to surprise you with a “dealers choice” cocktail. I love that the food menu changes every few weeks, one of the many reasons I keep coming back!Vegetarian options: They update their menu often and always mark if the food is vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free n

Ingrid Davis: I absolutely cannot express how AMAZING Braise Restaurant & Culinary School was for our reception. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue. We reserved the upstairs room, including the outdoor space that provided a beautiful view of the city.Becky Ayala, the restaurant manager, was a dream to work with. She was responsive to my emails and detail-oriented, which was so helpful during the reception planning process. The beautifully decorated room dazzled guests the moment they arrived at Braise and established the vibe for the rest of the room’s design. We also loved having the outdoor space, which was perfectly decorated, with floral arrangements placed everywhere. We opted for a family-style dinner. Locally sourced seasonal food inspired the menu of Mixed Green Salad, Lemon Risotto, Montreal Chicken and Soy Braised Beef. The food was delicious and the two wedding cocktails, Crazy Dave’s Old Fashioned and Rhubarb Lemonade were wonderful and flavorful. Our waiter, Kira and David, our bartender, were exceptional and on top of everything. The timing of the dishes was efficiently paced to allow sufficient time in between dishes.Everything was superb, and our guests raved about the venue and the food. I cannot recommend Becky and her team highly enough. You will not regret booking your venue in Braise.

Chrissi Quinn: We had our wedding dinner here and the catering was phenomenal. We booked out the first floor and the split between cocktails in the bar area and dinner in the dining room was a nice little change of setting. The braised beef, pork buns, and chocolate mouse were hits, guests even took leftovers home. The lemon curd wedding cake made by the pastry chefs was great and beautifully but tastefully decorated. I hope we can come back for all our anniversaries.Wheelchair accessibility: My significant other's mom is in an electric wheelchair and it was easy for her to get in and navigate around the first floor.

Milwaukee Area Technical College Downtown Milwaukee Campus: what do users think?

Felicia Wilkins: Very helpful in finding resources

Marvin Pineda: This college expects the best out of you when nNo other reality can accept the worst of you. And I mean this when you find yourself the core curriculums you find yourself to work, you will find the workplace safety becomes pinned between a ladder of a few to honors received by none lest it becomes a receptionist to a catering service. – If you’re looking to be a plumber, here’s where to start, because if I was arguing carpentry over metallurgy in such a calm weathered hallway, you’d be screaming acts of God till the trickle point landed on your face with your belly bestowing all the previous laughter you thought you could manage by yourself. You see, I’d be sitting with the Dean, the Staff of Administration, and an S1185 form wondering whether or not to let a blind man walk out with his cane before I found out who ruined my Mother’s marriage and career progression to her children without blood on my knuckles following WI ST. 118.35, and an Honorable Admission of Servitude seeing as my own efforts will linger the halls into a transferable credit of Guiness World Record Readership to a statement that will leave you to question what the Commissioner is going to say about it. – After all, when school is close by, I’m just looking to form my retirement.Want to challenge that signature? Or leave it in chalk? Lifeless? There’s a little more to me than you knew, and a whole much more I circled around when deciding a chance would be glory.-

Abster Asgard: the field you want to be in. This is one of the best places to go.They have an active news station here that lends out thier studio to MATC and if you take that degree you end will work with people who are actively in the feild. They get you hands on with equipment within the 1st 2 weeks consistently and are very accommodating for accessibility. Half these reviews are reviewing the school as a whole... and you should not go here for a school name you should go here for hands on experience. I will say the school body is unhelpful and if you really want help go through you teachers and program heads.

T3LLA: Great school if you’re ready to buckle down and focus! Universities can have a lot going on and be really distracting, but this school has a balance. There’s definitely fun activities every now and then but when it comes to the academics, they will not leave you hanging either. The classroom sizes are reasonable, giving you the chance to have all of your questions heard and answered.

Alexander Salas: My experience in MATC IT Computer Support Specialist program is limited but good so far. I chose to pursue this degree because it lines up well with my current work experience and career goals. So far, I have been able to take all my classes online with no scheduled class times, so I can complete assignments at my own pace without interfering with my work schedule. Another thing this program does well, is that it offers options to achieve many different certifications on your way to a degree. They also work with businesses to help their student get jobs after graduating. I would recommend this program to someone looking to get into IT Support as a career.

Britanni Hildenbrand: I am in my sixth week taking online courses at MATC. I have chosen the IT Support Associate Degree program, for two reasons: One the program is only two years, I’ll be able to launch into the job market faster, and because IT is such a diverse, and fast growing career path, I know I will find a fit into the IT world upon graduation. I chose MATC because MATC is convenient and conventional. I can take classes online, at my own pace, and be on campus for the classes I need more focus and dedication to. This IT program combined with my 10 plus years customer service experience, I know I will be able to reach any career goal I set. Now, while my interest in computers and knack for problem solving I know this career path will be suitable for me, however, to any prospective student looking for a quick money type of career, this program is not for you. This program consists of lots of physical and mental work, also taking consideration of the customers you are serving. If a prospective student welcomes challenges and is comfortable with asking questions and not feeling intimidated by the mass amount of information you will retain then this is a program for you. Prospective students should also be aware that they don’t have to work or figure stuff out alone, one of my favorite accommodations is having access to tutoring, whether online or in person- at all campuses. Fellow future students should also know that acquiring their degree at MATC is a smart money move, students can save thousands of dollars getting their education here, as opposed to a four year college/university. Future students should also know that credits will transfer to a four year college such as MSOE or UWM.

Kipi Guentner: I've worked here for decades after being a student here myself.

Harry Balls: The learning structure is pretty good. The teachers are really doing their job. I would like to say that they should put more discipline on those kids because they scream and cry and run in the hall and its just bad. I would totally recommend 36th they give parents free coffee on Fridays

Tyra Madison: I LOVE this school so sad today is the last day I'm going to miss my teachers

Milwaukee Montessori School: what do users think?

Mona Reppa: MMS is an excellent school. Both of our children have attended the school since 4th grade and will graduate this year in 8th grade. The teachers are amazing. They give so much of their time, care, and expertise to their students. They really go above and beyond. The administration really cares about the kids and puts in a lot of effort to have a strong learning environment. They select and support teachers who are passionate about teaching, and have created an organization that is innovative and responsive to the changing needs of education. They have stayed ahead of technology trends and develop the academic, social, and emotional skills required to keep up with those trends in the classroom. The community of families is also wonderful. One must just attend an MMS volleyball game to see how this community is so supportive of each other.

Christopher Hahn: Our boys attended Milwaukee Montessori in the school year 2020 to 2021, the school year of Covid. That was their only year due to our move back east to our family. The boys attended third grade and fifth grade respectively. The experience was incredible. The teachers, the curriculum, and the social components all exceeded expectations. There’s no doubt we would’ve stayed at the school had we stayed in the Midwest.

Dania Stachiw-Hietpas: Our daughter started at 18 months and loved it. When she was 4 we moved and decided to give public school a try. We quickly saw a difference, that even our daughter expressed to us. For K5 she went back to MMS and we couldn't be happier!!

Lynn Malec: Fabulous environment where children’s individual and unique academic and social skills can flourish. We joined the MMS in 2020 and are the thrilled to be there!

Tina Mayer: We love Milwaukee Montessori! It’s a great school with wonderful teachers ❤️

Duke Roufus: Milwaukee Montesorri School is the best hands down. The school, staff and community are top notch. The best thing we ever did for our daughter

Carrie Castillo: My husband and I went on numerous tours of daycares and preschools before deciding on MMS for our toddler. We are so happy with our decision. Our son started when he was 18 months, he's learning so much. The staff is welcoming and pleasant.

Nina Tatarowicz: MMS is an outstanding school. We are so grateful to have found it this year to allow our 6 year old daughter to attend in person. Her caring, devoted teachers and staff have been amazing. Our daughter not only has built confidence in her studies, but now finds so much joy in reading and attending school. They are exceptionally organized and responsive in all matters. Thank you MMS!

Clarissa Mankus Ortiz: Our kids attend MMS and are in their toddler program and Children’s House. We have had an incredible experience and absolutely love it there! MMS has a very talented and committed group of teachers and it is truly a special school community! Moving our kids there was the best decision that we made. I would highly recommend their program to other families that are interested in the Montessori method of learning.

cleo alcantara: My daughter transfered to Milwaukee Montessori because her school did not have in person and she went from loving school to hating it.From day one at Milwaukee Montessori she said everyone was welcoming and she looks forward to going to school again. She even eagerly tells me what she worked on and looks forward to studying.

Angela Biscardi: Our family started at MMS this January and the decision to start our daughter back in a toddler program during a global pandemic was not an easy one. But after our multiple visits, and understanding all the COVID protocols we were confident MMS was the right choice for us! We were not wrong, our daughter is thriving in the program, meeting new friends, expanding her vocabulary and has a big smile on her face everyday at drop off! Her teachers are doing an amazing job keeping the line of communication open even though parents are not allowed in classrooms right now. Overall we only have positive feedback regarding our experience with MMS!

Sarah Metzen: We have had children at MMS for almost a decade and our experiences have been overwhelmingly positive! The teachers have all been very open, responsive and supportive. Our children have thrived academically in the Montessori atmosphere, and their art program is out of this world!

Lora Rice: My son has attended MMS since he was 3 years old. Each of his teachers has encouraged his interest and confidence throughout the years. They have been a major part in molding him into the all knowing 13 year old he is today. We are truly grateful for the time and energy his instructors have invested in our son. Thank you!

Susie Leisos: Wonderful school, beautiful classrooms, and excellent teachers. My four and a half year old is reading and her confidence is soaring. I am impressed with their handling of the pandemic. So lucky to have had MMS during this trying year. Lucky to be able to give my child an in person experience while knowing my child is safe.

St. Thomas Aquinas Academy: what do users think?

Ian Kutner: I cannot say enough good things about the school. They were very accommodating to my family when we came mid-semester. They fight very hard to keep children in school and also ensure that there is a good 'at home' platform for parents who feel there children are safer at home. The teachers manage there classes well and the principle is very open minded to the needs and concerns of the parents and students. I wish this school well in the future and thank you for the great experience.

Angie Kriz: STAA is an amazing school with a great parent community also! The older kids really help and care about the younger kids. it is a faith based, challenging academic environment that I am proud to be a part of!

Antonio Gomez: We love St. Thomas Aquianus Academy! My kids get a top tier Catholic education. The principal, teachers and staff are very approachable and personable. They always demonstrate how much they care about family values and community involvement. I am so proud my kids are apart of this school.

Veronica B: I love the community this school has to offer. Parent involvement is everywhere. Amazing school, teachers, parent and most importantly Students. I would want my child in any other school.

Cori Maki: My family has been at St. Thomas Aquinas Academy since 2011. The nice thing about the school is that you really get to know the parents of the other kids in the class through any of the many school or extracurricular activities. There is a great sense of family and an instilled respect for giving back to each other inside or outside of the immediate school community. While the academics are strong, the fact that I know my child is safe physically and emotionally is worth so much more. The teachers and staff strive to create an environment of inclusiveness and collaboration within the classrooms and between grade levels.

Nikki Nowinski: STAA has a great environment for learning and community. Small enough to feel like family and big enough that the kids have space and time to identify with themselves and other grades.

Nikki Maves: This school really does take the extra effort and goes the extra mile to make sure every student/parents concern or input is addressed. Theres not many schools that you can get all of this and a great education! I wouldnt recommend any other school then St. Thomas Aquinas Academy!!!!!

polishpower1977: St. Thomas Aquinas Academy has been our families' school for going on 9 years with my daughter starting in K4. We have had good experiences with the academics and structure the school focuses on. The faith based education is very important to us and St. Thomas Aquinas Academy delivers that. I see it in the way it has shaped our daughter into a kind and compassionate student and person. The sense of community within the school is fantastic and my wife and I have met parents that will remain life long friends of ours. The extracurricular activities, sports, theater, and after school programs are a bonus. We are proud to call St. Thomas Aquinas Academy our home.

Amy Taylor: Our daughter, Charlotte, began her STAA journey last fall as an incoming K4 student. It was a learning experience for her, but most especially for us as parents. However, the STAA parent network is incredibly strong, and everyone was so eager to help us adapt to our “new normal.”It’s been wonderful just how many things there are for Charlotte to do at STAA. In addition to the usual reading, writing and arithmetic, children get to experience art, music, technology, science, and gym. We’ve noticed that when we remind Charlotte about what to expect to do each day from the monthly calendar they send home, no matter the day or the activity, she’s always super excited! Finally, we’ve been very impressed by the Catholic community and help from upper class students during all school Masses, recess and lunch. While a typical 8th grade student might prefer to spend their lunch time with their friends, most of the older students choose to give back to the school by volunteering as a buddy for kindergarten students. Whether it’s to sit next to them during Mass and help them follow along with the readings, opening up their milk cartons at the start of lunch, or helping them with art projects, their willingness to come forth and be a friend to these young students is truly overwhelming.

Rachel Sekey: Highly recommend this school! This is my daughters first year at the school and I can’t being to say how pleased I am. She absolutely loves it there! Her teacher is amazing, the office staff is always extremely helpful with any questions I have because of being new. Overall excellent school!

Eli Barto: Helpful in December to check on holiday schedules parking Christmas concerts and church services on Saturday and Sunday,

Wxffl e: I’m at this school right now in 4th grade they have GREAT education the teachers care for you.But they don’t let classes up 3rd grade have 2 recess time. But I recommend you or your child to go to this school!

Jose Munoz: Peaceful place

Abigail Hernandez: I just currently graduated from this school and I've went there for 10 years. I've seen a lot happen for the good and for the bad. The schools education taught me very well with the teachers I had. Most of them really do care about the students future and believe In their potential. I believe some situations needed to be handled more seriously like stolen phones and such. Otherwise the school is good.

Jeff Ray: I have been visiting St Roman's church for many years, from when I was in grade school. They have undergone several renovations over the years, and the church is now a beautiful house of worship. The school, however, is in dire need of upgrades. Its a nice place, but it really could use some work. The classes have also begun to swing toward a more Spanish speaking crowd, and this makes learning more difficult for some of the English students there. This is not a knock on the school or the students, just something to keep in mind if you are considering sending your children there.
