irene jerving: I went here for elementary school about 10 years ago and it was amazing. I miss it so much and it will always feel like home. I became fully fluent in French over my 6 years there which is so cool and I’m very grateful for all of my previous teachers and everyone who helped me grow up along the way. I definitely recommend sending your child here!

Anne Siegel: Osher rocks! In preparation for teaching a Zoom class to elementary school children in French, I contacted one of the Osher members and received some specialized tools for moving forward with my project. Her 'tips' helped me lead the virtual class with a minimal amount of missteps. I gained a lot of confidence after working individually with Laurie, as well as attending her regular Zoom tutorials for all Osher members. Love the variety of programs, too!
Gwen Benner: Osher at UWM has provided a plethora of stimulating programs for lifelong learners in a community of fellow students who have become colleagues and good friends.
Priscilla Camilli: I have enjoyed many Osher courses. I especially have gained insightsfrom Paula Friedman''s book discussions and Kathy Johnson's film analyses and other courses. I have also been happy to teach classes on art history.Osher makes retirement fulfilling!

Marvin Wiener: The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UWM is an adult learning extension of UW Milwaukee that has brought learning experiences to many intellectually curious senior citizens in the greater Milwaukee area. It differentiates itself from other adult learning activities by the breadth of topics, the active participation in the organization by over 100 volunteers, the caliber of the presenters, and the continued pursuit of excellence through surveys of members and evaluation of the classes offered. The high caliber of the organization is reflected in its rapid adoption of virtual teaching made necessary by the COVID pandemic. The Institute didn't miss a beat in moving to a virtual platform. It has the technical expertise and member dedication to pull that off almost seamlessly. I'm proud to be a member of an organization that recognize me as an individual and values my input and membership.
Chris Schlosser: The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a great way to continue to learn new and interesting things - as well as meet other people. They have done a great job of shifting to all online classes during the pandemic. These classes have been a great way to stay in touch and learn while safer at home.

Children in Milwaukee who are poor and homeless face an uncertain future. Without a solid education, compassionate mentors and a firm foundation, many are likely to perpetuate the cycle of poverty and its frequent results: violence, substance abuse and homelessness. Study after study has shown that education is the best ticket out of such situations, which is why the Milwaukee Rescue Mission started Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) in 2006. CTA’s express purpose is to provide at-risk children with the opportunity for an excellent, Christian-based education that will equip them with academic, social, emotional and spiritual tools for life.
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission opened Cross Trainers Academy in 2006 with the intent of reaching inner-city kids with educational opportunity and the hope of the Gospel. The school, with nearly 500 students and a 20:1 student-staff ratio, offers pre-kindergarten through 12th grade classes.
Cross Trainers Academy focuses on strong academic achievement, especially in the areas of reading and mathematics. Through diligent work, students gain the skills necessary to be successful in their academic efforts. Other classes include science, social studies, Bible, physical education, health, music and art.
Kishia says her daughter has seen “a lot of growth” since switching from another school: “She’s not afraid of learning anymore. She’s made a drastic change. She now has a strong belief in God, and she’s more caring and loving, because that’s what she’s been shown at the school.”
Cross Trainers Academy is part of the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program. It receives funding for each child whose family income falls below levels determined by the state. But the funding doesn’t cover all of our costs, partly because of small class sizes of only 15-20 students. We are always in need of more funding, resources and volunteers to meet the basic needs of the school . . . and of each and every student.

Jamie Mangert: My boys attended and loved their old school Clement Ave in the Bayview area. My eldest started Clement Avenue when he was just in kindergarten and made it all the way till 7th grade and my youngest son started also in K4, and he made it till the 3rd grade . But due to transportation issues we had to switch schools. That is when they got enrolled into Victory. It was the first time both of them had to take a school bus to and from school, and we were very nervous of the new adjustments that had to be made at home and at school as any child and parent would be. To all the parents out there who had to make this transition, trust me, i know how our imaginations may go wrong when transitioning from driving their children to and from school to not being able to have that sense of control. But to all of our surprise their first day went perfect and I do not use that word regularly. Also I am NOT one of those who is trying to kiss the schools butt, as to say, but victory is a great school for all children and I do recommend it for your next school choice they not only have football soccer baseball they also teach many other languages and have smaller classrooms to fit your child's individual concerns and needs. Just give them a try is what I would recommend to any parent wondering whether or not to send their child there. Seeing is believing. And my youngest is now on the honor roll and my oldest is playing football in his grades have improved dramatically he is just about to be on the honor roll. I am a proud parent & I speak it loud and clear .

Mona Reppa: MMS is an excellent school. Both of our children have attended the school since 4th grade and will graduate this year in 8th grade. The teachers are amazing. They give so much of their time, care, and expertise to their students. They really go above and beyond. The administration really cares about the kids and puts in a lot of effort to have a strong learning environment. They select and support teachers who are passionate about teaching, and have created an organization that is innovative and responsive to the changing needs of education. They have stayed ahead of technology trends and develop the academic, social, and emotional skills required to keep up with those trends in the classroom. The community of families is also wonderful. One must just attend an MMS volleyball game to see how this community is so supportive of each other.
Christopher Hahn: Our boys attended Milwaukee Montessori in the school year 2020 to 2021, the school year of Covid. That was their only year due to our move back east to our family. The boys attended third grade and fifth grade respectively. The experience was incredible. The teachers, the curriculum, and the social components all exceeded expectations. There’s no doubt we would’ve stayed at the school had we stayed in the Midwest.

But after our multiple visits, and understanding all the COVID protocols we were confident MMS was the right choice for us! Marvin Pineda: This college expects the best out of you when nNo other reality can accept the worst of you. And I mean this when you find yourself the core curriculums you find yourself to work, you will find the workplace safety becomes pinned between a ladder of a few to honors received by none lest it becomes a receptionist to a catering service. – If you’re looking to be a plumber, here’s where to start, because if I was arguing carpentry over metallurgy in such a calm weathered hallway, you’d be screaming acts of God till the trickle point landed on your face with your belly bestowing all the previous laughter you thought you could manage by yourself. You see, I’d be sitting with the Dean, the Staff of Administration, and an S1185 form wondering whether or not to let a blind man walk out with his cane before I found out who ruined my Mother’s marriage and career progression to her children without blood on my knuckles following WI ST. 118.35, and an Honorable Admission of Servitude seeing as my own efforts will linger the halls into a transferable credit of Guiness World Record Readership to a statement that will leave you to question what the Commissioner is going to say about it. – After all, when school is close by, I’m just looking to form my retirement.Want to challenge that signature? Or leave it in chalk? Lifeless?There’s a little more to me than you knew, and a whole much more I circled around when deciding a chance would be glory.-
Abster Asgard: the field you want to be in. This is one of the best places to go.They have an active news station here that lends out thier studio to MATC and if you take that degree you end will work with people who are actively in the feild. They get you hands on with equipment within the 1st 2 weeks consistently and are very accommodating for accessibility. Half these reviews are reviewing the school as a whole... and you should not go here for a school name you should go here for hands on experience. I will say the school body is unhelpful and if you really want help go through you teachers and program heads.
T3LLA: Great school if you’re ready to buckle down and focus! Universities can have a lot going on and be really distracting, but this school has a balance. There’s definitely fun activities every now and then but when it comes to the academics, they will not leave you hanging either. The classroom sizes are reasonable, giving you the chance to have all of your questions heard and answered.
Alexander Salas: My experience in MATC IT Computer Support Specialist program is limited but good so far. I chose to pursue this degree because it lines up well with my current work experience and career goals. So far, I have been able to take all my classes online with no scheduled class times, so I can complete assignments at my own pace without interfering with my work schedule. Another thing this program does well, is that it offers options to achieve many different certifications on your way to a degree. They also work with businesses to help their student get jobs after graduating. I would recommend this program to someone looking to get into IT Support as a career.
Britanni Hildenbrand: I am in my sixth week taking online courses at MATC. I have chosen the IT Support Associate Degree program, for two reasons: One the program is only two years, I’ll be able to launch into the job market faster, and because IT is such a diverse, and fast growing career path, I know I will find a fit into the IT world upon graduation. I chose MATC because MATC is convenient and conventional. I can take classes online, at my own pace, and be on campus for the classes I need more focus and dedication to. This IT program combined with my 10 plus years customer service experience, I know I will be able to reach any career goal I set. Now, while my interest in computers and knack for problem solving I know this career path will be suitable for me, however, to any prospective student looking for a quick money type of career, this program is not for you. This program consists of lots of physical and mental work, also taking consideration of the customers you are serving. If a prospective student welcomes challenges and is comfortable with asking questions and not feeling intimidated by the mass amount of information you will retain then this is a program for you. Prospective students should also be aware that they don’t have to work or figure stuff out alone, one of my favorite accommodations is having access to tutoring, whether online or in person- at all campuses. Fellow future students should also know that acquiring their degree at MATC is a smart money move, students can save thousands of dollars getting their education here, as opposed to a four year college/university. Future students should also know that credits will transfer to a four year college such as MSOE or UWM.

Alissa P: Have been here before for dinner, which was absolutely wonderful. Finally made it back for Saturday Brunch. It did not disappoint! I had the Breakfast Hash and my friend had the Saumon Oeufs Beneitce, which were both great. Then we shared the Chocolate Raspberry Dome and Raspberry Dacquoise for dessert. The dome was rich, the other had a creamy custard-like filling inside. Then I brought the Opera Torte to my mother — also delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. I also thought the portion sizes were fair for the quality of food and price.
