Downtown Books Bought & Sold: what do users think?

Mae Zitzke: and selection of music/records as well.

Indrani Ghosh: A magical place for all book lovers

Kraig: Downtown books is the closest thing to Hogwarts in Milwaukee. It feels magical. Books as high as the ceiling; in stacks and bundles and piles, tucked away in every inch and corner of the building. Books bridges sprawling between aisles and every genre you could possibly need. Great options for children’s book and they even have a record collection. This place is with checking out if you are passing through or you’re a local.

Isa Burke: an amazing collection of books, thoughtfully arranged, with great deals and a great vibe

Denise Johnson: Lots and lots of used books. Takes time to scan the shelves. Interesting place.

Matthew Steckling: Incredible selection and great prices, we’ll absolutely be back again and again. So many kids books!

Daniel Law: Everything you want in a bookstore. Great service. Well organized. Nice selection.

Matthew Karge: GREAT book store. I could spend all day there!

Mary Town: Everything that I want in a bookshop- floor to ceiling shelves in winding maze like passageways, ladders leaning here and there, an eclectic collection of used books, comic books, old iconography...

Lucy Blythe: This is a book lovers paradise!

Matthew Blythe: Wow, what a bookstore.

Tim Klicker: Good selectiom

Resonant Memories Archive: Fantastic atmosphere and great selection. My go-to used bookshop. Prices are very reasonable but you may have to do some searching to find what you want, but that's part of the fun of it!

Voyageur Book Shop: what do users think?

Carlos Diaz (Rafa): . Two awesome cats will bless your presence as well ♡♡ Mr.Sanders seems a little more social, and Bustopher Jones is also a very cool guy. Downstairs is a cozy area with a lot more books and some chairs. They also have very cool vintage postcards by the entrance! I'm sure I'll keep noticing more really cool stuff here

Judy Prince: Very cute book shop, owner was knowledgeable and helpful.Knew what I was looking for.

Joe Dimig: Nice space with lots of interesting books and a reading area in the basement. Many very old books which are fun to look through. A cat may even join you.

Angela D'Ambrosio: There are two cats there.

007Girl Blessed: Thank u for the great book

Douglas Campbell: WOW! This book store is sooooooooo cool! The owner is a wonderful young man who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate on books. This shop has the best form of advertising, CATS! We came in to pet the softest cat known to man. We left with great memories, great books, and a smile on our faces. 10/10.

Joshua Matthews: very cute with great prices

Shosh Z: Amazing selection and sweet cats. Very homey too.

Kevin: Nice and quiet. The selection is hit or miss, depending on the desired subject.

Arash Azizi: Cool bookshop!

El Stewart: They come out from behind the counter to share the passion of books, their creation process, and history.

Boswell Book Company: what do users think?

Joe Boring: Lovely independent bookseller. Friendly staff and great selection.

Nick Stricharchuk: Wonderful bookstore. I also have to note that this is the most reliable shop I’m aware of in Milwaukee for quality greeting cards. As a man, it’s incredibly difficult to find stationery that is gender-neutral, let alone content that isn’t just generally corny. Highly recommend.

Megan Davis: Love this place! If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they will order it for you!

Julia Anderson: Great selection, cute merchandise, a great indie bookstore

Roberto Rojas: What a great book store! Love the feel and atmosphere of this local book shop. They carry a great mix of classics and new interesting reads. The small review and recommendation cards below books are so helpful for finding new interesting books and authors. We also especially love going here and getting recommendations for books for our kids. Boswell’s staff have introduced us to so many great new series that our kids have loved! Always so impressed with the help we receive. Overall, just love this place!

Christine: The boys were very helpful for me.Aren't good at ordering books for me and glad you're not going to win.I appreciate that there's still a book.So I can go to and get boxing prints.Thank you

Jen Vega: Impactful author's talk in a wonderful independent book store! Highly recommend.

John Shefchik: It is always an exciting adventure to walk into a real bookstore and wander among the offerings! Boswell is especially great because they offer smart staff recommendations for many books. These help me to find the books that will inform or entertain me. And I find that there are pleasures in owning, handling, and gifting “real”books … Boswell supports those pleasures.

J. Peck: Loved it

Lance Neukirch: Great bookstore with large new selection.

Drew: To be upfront, I'm not from Milwaukee, but I'm up here often. Boswell's is the best local book place I've been to which is why I keep heading back. The staff recommendations are nice, diverse, and cover all categories. Comfy chairs scattered throughout the store and a good selection of book adjacent items like notebooks, calendars, puzzles, and other items. Seems to me like they have sections throughout the store for whatever your reading preference is and regardless of age.

Erin Carlson Rivera: An amazing independent bookstore! The selection is great, and the staff always have good recommendations when I ask for help.

Outwords Books Gifts & Coffee: what do users think?

John W Eyster: Outstanding inventory 👍

William Swanson: I had a great conversation with Tom at the coffee bar.

Aria Graff: I absolutely loved this indie bookstore! I have never, ever seen a bookstore exclusively dedicated to LGBTQ+ representation and materials before, it was so unique! However, I wouldn't recommend bringing your children in this bookstore. This is not in any way a bad thing, just a warning. I picked up a book that I've been looking for for a long time here, I was glad to have supported a small business and they had exactly what I was looking for! For all adults who love books and LGBT representation, I would most definitely recommend this bookstore! 10/10!

Meyaka Brown: The owner is an awesome guy. We usually go here every few days. Good book selection. Highly recommend this LGBT Bookstore/Coffee establishment. Go here when you get a chance. 👍

Steven Schmitzer: A great place to find a book or two. Also a place to get a coffee and chat, or pick up a last minute gift or card.

Brian Gerl: Great, friendly and only LGBTQ bookstore in Milwaukee area!

story1951: A place to rest your bones. The owner makes for a pleasent visit as you drink your fresh coffee.

Adler Shepherd: Great experience! Awesome literature, cute cards and gifts!

Chelsie Sweeney: Cute place!

Corin Martens: Quiet coffee and LGBT store

Stevie Holzer: Great little bookstore. Owner is really helpful and knowledge. They also sell coffee and tea there.

Altered State Of Mind: what do users think?

Julia Jezy.: Altered State is one of my favorite stores in Milwaukee. The staff is always so friendly, their selection is expansive and constantly changing. Love supporting this local business.

Denese M Johannsen: a beautiful light energized feeling, and the insights she shared were profound and extremely helpful !At dinner with friends later, everyone commented that I had more sparkle in my eyes and had a lighter feeling to be around. Everyone asked what I had done , as I did not tell them beforehand I was going for a shamanic clearing. To me, it’s part of a true testament as to her commitment to the work and her skills/connection.Others noticed a BIG difference in me without even knowing I had energy work done. This has NEVER happened with ANY of the other energy sessions I have had !!Truly, looking forward to my next Shamanic clearing session !!!❣️THANK YOU KRYSTLE ❣️I appreciate all the event's the store hosts , many of which are donation based !! Also, the support for all the local artists. Your staff has always been friendly and helpful anytime I’ve stopped in.❣️Thank you Altered State of Mind ❣️💜🙂💕🐉🐭💜

Arselia Vega: My Reiki session with Krystal was beyond amazing. I loved it and will be going again and recommending it to my family and friends.

Bryanna VanCaster: I did a shamanic energy cleanse with Krystal at Altered State. It was fantastic. Everyone should try this beautiful energetic release. I feel reborn, much lighter and have an overall sense of peace. ☮️ I have also had tarot readings, crystal ball readings and palm readings at this space…. You name it, they offer it and at a fair price too.

Anna A. R.: Her energy helped me feel safe in this sanctuary space, a comfort I’d not felt in many months. As we did the egg cleanse, I could feel extra attention brought to the exact spot of my pain. When explained to me afterwards, Krystle pulled strands of sickness from that particular ovary. I could feel something coming out of me… which was very new to me! I have never considered myself someone who could “feel” energies physically.Since the cleanse, I have not experienced any extreme pain from this part of my body. That was not an outcome I had expected. I feel rejuvenated and can finally focus on the joys of every day life.In addition to this, Krystle shared a vision she had as she did the cleanse, regarding a past life. The bits of information she gave me were intriguing and inspired me to delve deeper into discovering myself.Thank you Krystle, this was an invaluable experience for me. One that I am not likely to forget.

SĀF House: INCREDIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AMAZING SMALL BUISNESS SO MANY AMAZING HEALING VIBES IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA STOP BY!!

The store itself offers a wide range of spiritual practice products, such as tarot, crystals, books, candles/candle spells, local artwork, and so much more. The business supports a variety of local creators, businesses, and artists. They also offer a great variety of services; from tarot readings, to palmistry, to mediumship, and even crystal ball reading! This shop is more than a crystal store, it’s also a safe haven for many as they work toward their spiritual journey. Holy spirt tell a vision: When I asked if they had any American flags, the owner told me about the Milwaukee pin aka the peoples flag. My literal first thought was Heaven yeah! La'Nycia Hardwick: Chill space and quite if bit of souvenirs

Lee M.: Cool store! They have a good selection. Got two postcards.👍🏼

Joe D: Great store for finding Milwaukee gifts and decor. It's like one of those tourist stores on the beach in Florida, but instead of selling junk, they sell really nice stuff. Great selection of books, posters, shirts, brewerania, miscellaneous gifts, and more.

steve sayer: Purchased a light up sign and a large framed print. They packaged the print for me so I could check it for my flight. Urban Milwaukee did a fantastic job. Great shop for vintage brewery items along with items to remember the good time that you had in Milwaukee.

Jill Kirchner: I LOVE this shop! High quality items and unique gifts.

Robin VandenLangenberg: Fav small business in downtown Milwaukee! So cute and great for gift shopping.

Trinity L: Great store! Stopped in because I was the area and it did not disappoint. There's so much arts and crafts items - from crocheting to scrapbooking and everything in between. Tons of card stock for invites, favors, and notes. Every kind of envelope shade and color you could ever hope for. Plus, there's a lot of cute stationary too! For those out of towners, this store also offers great souvenirs and keepsakes too.

winny: Lots of stationary items. Some pens. Pentel, LAMY, Sharpie a couple others. Cartridge fountain pens, didn't see pump fountain pens. Testing of pens is verboten. Not much help with navigating the pen stock; i was left alone without any expert advice. i recommend doing research before showing up.Didn't have uniball pens.

Brooke Janssen: Great gift shop.

Frank Bodnar: I was looking for cat and dog hand puppets and by golly wouldn’t you know it, low and behold, hallelujah, they had em! I can’t think of another store where I’d send people for rubbery-life like cat & dog hand puppets. Stop by and tell ‘em that one guy sent ya!

Logan Rumbaugh: Great independent stationary store. Great selection of tchotchkes, cards, post cards, and other gifting supplies. Always come out of here with something fun to take home.

Claire Baetzold: Obsessed with this store, I’ve never found another store like it! They have so much cute stationery, gifts, books, and random things ranging from vintage posters to candles to buttons.
