Jeremy Iushewitz: First time visiting, and on a drizzly Thursday I spent the majority of my day exploring the grounds. Upon arrival I went into the Nature Center paid for my parking and the young lady was very informative and answered all my questions.While there was not much greenery yet the trails are easily accessible and clean! I even saw a few deer grazing deep in the brush. Overall I had a fantastic time and I recommend people come visit!

They are open year round and have tons of events.We became members and the price for an annual membership was so reasonable and the costs for the events are also very reasonable. Great local place, an oasis in the city. Beautiful way to get away from screens and out into nature.
Maureen Dahl: The Wehr Nature Center is a true gem for all southeastern Wisconsin residents and we are so fortunate to have access to it. I absolutely love immersing myself into the beauty of nature while walking around the lake. Numerous species of birds, along with turtles, fish, sand cranes and more are what you might come a peas on your way.

Fitzgerald Scott: As far as I know, outside of the river, it’s the only preservation area inside Milwaukee. There’s a hawk family and really friendly really old turkey. This is the closest I have ever been to a deer. I didn’t us the zoom.

A beautiful place to observe wildlife, like turtles sunning themselves on logs, and learn about native plants, like milkweed, elderflower bushes which later get berries, and so much better. Matthew Parrilli: What a great spot. This was our first visit but certainly not our last.There is a nominal entry fee. Adults are $10; kids are $7; children under 2 are free. Memberships are $70 which we will consider getting next time. With this fee you get access to several things not available at free parks and nature reserves. There is a well appointed welcome center, an observation tower, and an ADA-accessible pavilion.There are six miles of trails through a wide range of environments including forest, prairie, wetland, and beach. There are several different trail types—paved, crushed gravel, and dirt. Some were on the soggy side, but this is to be expected in late March.Even on a cool and overcast day, the park was beautiful and the wildlife was abundant. We saw turkeys, geese, ducks, deer, and ground squirrels. We heard a wide variety of bird which this preserve is known for. You can rent binoculars at the welcome center.During our 2+ hour visit, we walked most of the trails. It is a surprisingly compact park. We look forward to returning to experience its beauty during each of the seasons. Highly recommended.

Michael Hunter: A surprising space in the city. Nice for strolling and jogging.
Ras Maurice McCutcheon: Part of the hank aaron state trail. A beautiful trail that is being maintained by the urban ecology center and good Samaritans. Love to live by here to have a perfect place to exercise.

Lucy McChesney: What a cute park on the south side of Milwaukee! There are a few trails to walk on, and I feel like it is a hidden gem of Milwaukee. People can walk, use their bikes, and even take their dogs there as well! There is a bridge that gives you a great view of the Milwaukee skyline as well which is beautiful during sunset!
