If you can help it don't go on Saturdays if you are not patient. Otherwise, treat people with respect and you will get it back there. Be kind and think about others if you can.

Mario S. Sanchez: I was homeless for almost 13 years in one straight time. I used to be a "canner" during those years and this recycling center and Bandos recycling center was where I used to bring aluminum cans to during those years. I remember when cans were as high as 90 cents and I remember the "crash" and the end of 2008 when cans went to 28 cents a pound. I literally brought thousands of pounds into both centers over those years but now I am not homeless and no longer need to pick up cans and I am glad.

Rick Morrison: National Salvage by the Stadium is one of the best places to take your recyclables. The yard is set up for quick and efficient drop off and the two guys running the scale and forklift are hands down the best guys I have dealt with at any scrap yard - helpful and polite even on the busiest days. A special call out goes to Andrew Richter - he answered all my questions very thoroughly and informed me of the best way to sort my metals for the most payout at the scale then followed up with a phone call to be sure I was taken care of. You don't get this kind of service anywhere else. Thanks Andrew!

Mary D: I have only wonderful things to say about this place! Any complaints on here are simply sad. This is self-help. The workers are there to direct you. And yet on several occasions I have seen the workers go above and beyond in helping people and also explaining how to separate items, etc. Yes, there are empty dumpsters, however, it is a system and sending in a million cars at once would create chaos and the way they fill the dumpsters systematically makes sense. Also, why complain that this isn’t open on Sundays? Do you want to work at the dump on a Sunday instead of spending time with your friends and family or going to church if you do that? It’s a wonderful service our city provides and I don’t know why we need to complain about it. Other cities charge even their residents outrageous fees for dropping anything off at the dump.The Milwaukee dump is very generous to its residents!
