4worldlovers: It is with heavy hearts that we announce that after 35+ years, Custom Grown Greenhouses is closing it’s doors. Paul started working with plants more than 50 years ago! He started working at a greenhouse and garden center in Milwaukee during his teenage years. In 1984, he started his own business and began selling plants from a makeshift stand located in a grocery store parking lot. Custom Grown Greenhouses officially opened in 1988. In 2023, Paul decided it was time to scale back and take a much needed “semi” retirement. He is looking forward to spending most of his new found free time with his grandchildren.

Next year he will have a small greenhouse at the Layton Fruit Market (1838 E Layton Ave) with a limited stock of flowers, vegetables and more, so be sure to visit him there.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our loyal customers and employees over the years. Stories were created, friendships were made and memories are forever cherished. Those of you who know Paul know that he has an extremely strong work ethic but more so, commitment to serving his community and pleasing his customers.

Our family owned garden center and greenhouse is an operated independent retail nursery. We supply the community with their gardening needs along with local businesses and localities.

At Custom Grown Greenhouses we grow and handpick the best plants from local growers in our area.

We provide all the fertilizer needed for your outdoor flowers to last all year.

A general rule of thumb is, the smaller the pot, the more often you should water your plants and flowers. For more specific questions on watering, we can assist you in the greenhouse and garden center.

The sun! We also have heaters for cloudy and extra cold days. In the middle of summer, we use shades to keep it it cooler
