Mo's Irish Pub Downtown Milwaukee: what do users think?

The Borg Cooking Show: Chloe is this best bartender in town. If you want the top drawer, front runner, belle of the ball brandy old fashion, you gotta ask Chloe to whip you up one

Rodney Olsen: Really nice staff and a good happy hour.

Alex PR: Good ✌️

Ashley W: Came in from Chicago for a quick bite with my mother and 3 of my girlfriends the day before St Patricks Day. We had tickets to a show at the theater down the street and one hour to enjoy a hot meal in the late afternoon. Considering it was a holiday weekend, we expected it to be busy just about anywhere. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table which wasn't a problem. When we were seated, we were seated at a small table near the pool table and other arcade game. The manager pushed our table as far back as he could so we wouldn't be in the way of the group of gentleman playing pool. We were sitting there for five minutes before an extremely intoxicated guy started screaming at us demanding us to move because he wanted to play skiball. We explained to him we were seated here by the manager who already moved the table as far back as he could. He continued to scream at us until I got up and decided to find the manager that seated us explaining what was currently happening. He seemed genuinely upset and opened up a separate isolated area for us to sit alone at our table apologizing profusely for how we were treated our first time visiting their establishment. He offered to comp half our meal for the trouble and assigned one of the kindest servers to take care of us. I wish I remembered her name because she deserves the recognition. My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to spend here because the food was absolutely delicious. You can tell they truly care about their customers and did not want to leave a bad impression on some visitors. I'm not angry at the establishment for how we were treated by one patron because these things can and will happen in a bar. I am applauding them for how quickly the management was to respond and rectify this issue to make sure the rest of our visit was an enjoyable experience 👍

Jauntéa Maxey: ! The potatoes and carrots were great. All items were clearly made separately, well thank goodness, because those caraway seeds ruined the cabbage. We will be looking elsewhere for the Corned Beef Irish Dinner. The cheese curds on the other hand are the best I’ve had but I’m no true Wisconsinite. Pretzel was excellent the first night and was hard in some places the second night we went, so hit or miss. I know it’s an Irish spot but wish they had the German mustard for the pretzel. The 4 cheese sauce and honey mustard were pleasant surprises. The cookie was good, could have baked a bit more but it is about personal preference.

Monica Sobek: Service was amazing first of all. So welcoming. Never had to ask for another drink, they asked me. The food was amazing. I got blackened fish tacos and the fish was cooked to perfection. My husband got the pan fried perch. He’s picky, and he LOVED it. He devoured it. I grew up on the Southside but never knew of this place. We will be back many times.

Drink Wisconsinbly Pub: what do users think?

Charles Behrmann: Cool bar, great selection of beverages including their own canned old fashioneds! They had 3 separate bar areas to go to which was nice and offered pretty much the same selection everywhere including a delicious brandy slush!Large Windows offered a nice natural light, not sure if they opened in summer. They had a cool deal where you could get a shirt, shot and beer for $28 which seemed great, but the beer was limited to 2 choices and the shot was just the house Brandy- which was Delicious, but not everyone in the group liked brandy- still a cool offer and a pretty good price.A few down sides were that it was a little cramped by the 2 dart boards with people cutting through the game being right next to the bar and tables. Also there's was only enough darts for one board- not a huge deal but realized after we put money in and had to Wait 40 minutes for another group to finish, luckily we weren't in a hurry. The men's bathroom only had 1 stall and 1 urinal which didn't seem like much for how large the bar was.I didn't even realize they offered food there if they did, I didn't see a menu anywhere. This bar was definitely unique, the brand is awesome, great concept, and I'll go back again for sure!

Maia H: So happy this bar is in the Deer District! I love the brand, and they have great merchandise in their gift shop. They have a good selection of beer, and their canned brandy old fashioned drinks are delicious! Just note that it can get really busy here during Fiserv Forum events or Milwaukee bar crawls. Make sure to Drink Wisconsibly!

Katherine Nelson: Katelynn bartender is awesome. She is professional, personable, and sweet. Went back after Bucks game because her attention to detail and service was so good!

Jessica Lucero: Service: 5/5

Orlando Pimentel: Atmosphere: 5/5

Justeenia Lily: I go to Paddy's once a month for a vampire LARP. The game is always fun but having a bar in the middle of a play zone is great because you can grab whatever, whenever. No food that I'm aware of though.Parking: Park on street or there's a paid lot near the bank that is available.

monty: It smells like burnt trashI was forced to listen to the three classless bores who call themselves “the owners” drink excessively and yell over each other all night. The blonde skinny waitress called me a name I cannot type when I asked for a white wine. There is also a feeling of being stabbed at any moment. There was also a homeless man who is called “rickety cricket” going into the bathroom to smoke “PCP” I would have to declare paddy’s the worst bar in Milwaukee

Old Mke: Pretty sure this place is closed for good.Godspeed George, we'll miss you! Thanks for the experience.Just do it.Odd hours but worth the wait.Classic old milwaukee!

Will Davidson: First bar I’ve been to in Milwaukee and wow what history in this place. These are guys with a dream of opening a bar 48 years ago and the memorabilia on the wall shows the ups and downs throughout the years. Staff was super friendly and happy to talk about the history. Not a big place but it just has that feel of the hard working American working towards his vision of a bar. Would absolutely recommend stopping by to have a beer!

Andy Holmaas: George’s Pub oozes with history. Place is cash only but has an ATM. George was a wild one with a lot of travel stories. It’s everything an old dive bar should be. Lots of hilarious decor including masks, statues, sports helmets, and bar signs. They had two dogs inside who were both squirmy. George could calm them down but they were absolute barkers. Cool stop for an authentic Milwaukee bar stop.

Tom Vespa: Great hole in the wall spot!

Aaron Lurvey: Small Town bar in a big city. For those of you have a memory of your small town country pub, this will supersede your expectations!

Derek Collins: Hands down best bar in milwaukee.

Ashley Brenski: Amazing little place with tons of history!

Maggie Wampole: Kid-friendliness: My kids enjoyed the provided board games while we waited for our lunch!Recommended dishes Soup, Chop …

Champion's Pub: what do users think?

Karina Schafer: Champion's Pub is a quintessential Milwaukee corner bar. It is welcoming, fun, and run by an amazing family and staff. Bobby Greenya and his wife, Maire, beyond being outstanding business owners, are spectacular people. This is a family that helps their community and provides a wonderful location to kick back and relax, enjoy sport's games on TV, or a game of shuffleboard with friends. They go the extra mile to make Champion's an East Side gem. Their St. Patrick's Day celebrations are legendary! Their huge backyard is especially a treat in the summer with kiddie pools to soak your feet in and even outdoor movies, live music and other fun events. Champion's Pub has hosted many of my family's social gatherings and always does a magnificent job. Thank you for being so amazing! We appreciate you more than words can say!

Relief Acupuncture: Best neighborhood bar in Milwaukee.

Erich Meier: Been coming to Champion’s Pub for the better part of the last 15 years or so. I absolutely love the spot. Want to order a cocktail and melt away into a corner with a book and be left alone? Champion’s has you covered. Feeling down and need some adult interaction without it being creepy? Champion’s has it covered. Everybody is welcomed with open arms and you get great bang for your buck when ordering a drink. Quality bartenders and an amazing cast of regulars will keep you entertained all night. A must visit if you haven’t yet.

Wi Skullsin: Best pub on the East Side. Great staff. Great drinks. Excellent patio.

Peter Dietrich: Champions Pub is a wonderful, family operated bar.Every time I visit, I’m greeted with a smile and a hearty “Hello” from the Bartender and Patrons alike!Beer is always cold and there is always a game on the TVs.Next time You’re there, say hello to Bobby for Me!

The Borg Cooking Show: Love this bar. Good pool tables. Great bartenders. For food, they've got a popcorn machine rolling most of the time. The butter salty goodness pairs quite well with a local brew. They have at least 5 TV's and a projector screen, so it's a wonderful place to catch a Marquette basketball game with some Marquette students. And let me tell you about the men's bathroom; 3 pristine urinals, 2 spacious stalls, plenty of water pressure at the sink to get you squeaky clean, and a nice hand dryer for your pool shooting hand. 10/10 would pee in againTim's the best bartender in the whole great state of Wisconsin.

The Borg Cooking Show: The ride the rail challenge is quite fun. They have a decent pool table, and outside patio for smoking, a dart board, trivia on mondays, and friendly bartenders.Parking: There is a paid parking garage directly next door and free street parking around the block usually.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get in so it is wheelchair accessible.

Von Trier: what do users think?

Nan Rose: night. The food was great and the service was excellent. Decor in the bar is outstanding. We wanted to show some family visiting from out of state an authentic Milwaukee bar and Von Trier helped us do that. Thank you!The reason I gave the food a four was because it came in a basket and not on a plate. Not a big deal, I know the baskets are reusable. We definitely hope to go again the next time we are in Milwaukee.

Arcadio Bolaños: For many years Von Trier has been the quintessential German bar in Milwaukee's east side. I used to live so close to it and now that I'm no longer in Wisconsin I miss it. Von Trier is, I should say, more German than many of the German bars I've visited while traveling in Germany. Tradition is important, and you can see that from wall to wall, ceiling to ceiling, you can see that in the decoration and the style. Von Trier has an impressive and large selection of beer, and I think for any fan of German beer, or just good beer in general, you'll definitely find something to stimulate your palate and placate your thirst. I visit Wisconsin once a year and I always come back here. Good memories and good beer. As it should be.

Benjamin Polony: One of the best bars in Milwaukee. Great German beer selection, warming interior, and a friendly crowd.

Kristin D: I hadn’t been here since they started serving food, so when family was visiting and wanted to go out for German, we decided to try it. The atmosphere is just as I remembered - it actually feels like you’ve stepped into an old world beer hall in Germany, with painted murals and steins lining the walls. We got there during Happy Hour, when some drinks are $6, a great value. There was just one hardworking server, and several guys behind the bar, but when we asked one about drinks he suggested we just wait for the server to come to our table. Seemed like they could have helped her out.Everybody loved the food they ordered, sausages with delicious condiments like radish slaw and caramelized onions, spaetzle and sauerkraut, and fish fry with potato pancakes. Truly some of the best German food in a very German city.Dietary restrictions: I didn’t notice any specifically gf items on the menu, but I requested a sausage without the bun, and found it to be a very satisfying meal. The server did inquire if I had Celiac or a sensitivity, showing they have an awareness of how to handle food allergies.
