James Connolly: . If you have a question, just approach the counter and let them know you have a question or need help. After about 20 minutes of looking at various bikes, I asked for help. One of the guys stopped what he was doing, instantly gave me his full attention, and very intelligently and honestly answered all my questions in a straightforward way. I mentally picked out 2 bikes, I thought would be good choices for me and then left, deciding I should do some more research and "sleep on it" before deciding which one to buy. After more research, I mentally "picked" one of these, i.e., the one from the manufacturer with the better reputation for higher quality components as between the two. They recently fitted me with an adaptive device to allow for a full pedal stroke after knee surgery and also helped set up a new Garmin. The staff are pros in every sense of the word!!! The staff is super knowledgeable and incredibly helpful if you need assistance with anything. I really like that it's a community workshop, I've been able to learn about bike maintenance and fix anything that's come up right there - they have all the tools you might need and plenty of spare parts. I've gotten a good few compliments on the new bike and I've always directed people here when we get talking.

They did an excellent job! Lucky for the unseasonably warm weather I was able to take 2 long bike rides to test it out. The bike rides like it is brand new! The gear shifting was incredibly smooth and the both rides were wonderful. The people I dealt with were very knowledgeable and great to deal with. I highly recommend Emery’s for your biking needs.

I recently purchased a used endurance bike from Facebook Marketplace, and while I had some concerns that I may have gotten myself in over my head, I figured that I had gotten a pretty good deal, as I had done quite a bit of research on modern bikes, and this particular model and style beforehand. It was clear to me from a test ride, that this bike was at the least in need of a tune up, I personally hated the saddle, and I wanted some optional accessories like a lock, air pump, etc. When I visited South Shore, I spoke with their mechanic, Terry. Terry listened to my story, gave the bike a quick examination, and recommended the basic tune up service. He did not try to oversell me on parts and services I didn't need, and I think he felt the bike was in better shape than I thought. When it came to the changes I wanted to make, he discussed my options, gave his insight, and never tried to rush me. He was knowledgeable about the products, gave his opinion, and respected mine. I had requested the return of my old parts when my bike was ready, they understood, and had everything prepared for me. Lastly, when I did go to pick up my bike, Steve spent time answering my questions about presta valves, tire pressure, and helping me to find the correct fit with the installation of my new seat and pedals. Sometimes being a repeat customer says it all. I'll be bringing my old bike here to replace the drive train. I felt this crew really cared about putting me on a bike I was happy with, not just selling me a different bike. Whether you want to buy a new bike, service your old bike, or pick up a quality used bike, give South Shore a look.

They've helped me keep everything from a 1950s Schwinn, through a 1980s French built tandem, to modern full suspension mountain bikes up and running. It feels like the store is run by cycling enthusiasts not salespeople. They've never looked down at me when I'm looking for parts or advice on some old thing I picked up. Get there before May and avoid the krush if you're in a hurry, but they usually have a pretty quick turnaround time. Bring in a flat and walk out aired up. Even have a layaway program if you need it.

Ian Thomson: Extremely happy customer! I’m a big man and had to get an odd part for a plus-size bike. They had it in stock and for less than Amazon. On another bike they fixed a flat, but rather than replacing with the stock tube they asked me some questions and recommended a beefier tube. Totally glad they did. Also I had shoddy shifter work done at Erik’s that never worked quite right. Turns out it was broken. The folks at Patio took a look, asked a few questions, and instead of replacing the stock part recommended heavier parts. Again, they had my unusual parts in stock and had it working better than new much sooner than promised for less than their estimate. AND they tightened up some other things I didn’t ask them to and bike is working better than new. The place isn’t fancy but these folks know what they’re doing. Extremely happy they took the time to ask me questions and worth every penny in my book.

Kyle in sales did a great job going over the bike and going through the details of the menu on the TFT display and was patient with all my questions. Chad also did a great job in the finance office. No pressure to buy an extended warranty, but I actually did end up getting one; I rarely buy extended coverage on anything I purchase, but in this case the price and coverage actually made sense to me. Would certainly do business with them again and recommend them.
