Brent Miller: Way to go Annie B.This is my “first ever” Google review and it is written for Annie B and the Milwaukee Music Academy.I’m in my late 50s and in search of a local guitar instructor; I played as a teenager before life got in the way. I returned recently and managed to knock off the cobwebs by myself and improved beyond my previous level. However, I eventually understood I needed an outside musical influence to grow beyond my own frame of reference.My initial search for a teacher, a web-based service, matched me with Annie B. After our first conversation, I concluded that she was a bit too far away to make that weekly trip; would have spent twice as much time commuting than in actual instruction. Due to the distance, she could not help me directly, but she used her social media presence to find someone local for me to investigate. Within 12 hours she relayed back, 4 people she trusted in my area.I’ve since linked up with one of those people and I will take my first lesson today. In a way, I kind of wish she were closer because she was very helpful and personable. I think we would have worked well together.Thanks again Annie and remember, this is my “first ever” google review, posted for you!

If you sign up for personal lessons, they run sessions each season which also includes some type of performance you will be able to perform at. During the time of COVID-19, they have shifted to the option to do remote lessons over Zoom. They have scholarships to provide opportunities to those who would not otherwise have the ability to pay.

too many phils: I went here to check the condition on my cello as i'm looking to sell it. John had a string tech take a look and she was quick and knowledgeable, explaining what she saw. John then explained what they can offer as well as what my options were outside of selling to them.I left with a clear picture of how to move forward, as I had no clue how to go about selling my cello. They were extremely helpful.

No more sore hoarse throat after singing a set! Going to the studio every week to sing and work on songs is something I look forward to and is a much needed catharsis. If you have goals for your voice Julie is the person to go to- she is discerning, experienced in her craft, and the rates for classes are affordable.

Since beginning with Julie my teenaged daughters have become more confident and comfortable performing for an audience and they sound SO much better. Makes me think that maybe I could become a decent singer if I took from singing lessons from Julie! Hah, just kidding!!!One thing I love about Julie is that she records my daughters singing and sends me the recordings via email. I love having “souvenirs” of their progress.Julie is very talented and she has so much experience performing for years in and around Milwaukee, teaching private lessons, and teaching higher education. Her rates are reasonable and her hours are flexible. Her studio location is convenient and close to a lot of stores and restaurants and the East Library, so parents, you can get your errands done or have some nice “me time” while your kids are having their lessons. The practice space is a beautiful and spacious, you can also sit and watch or read a book while you wait.Julie is also welcoming to everyone, from any background or beliefs, gender or sexuality. At her recitals we see her students are all unique and she is able to cater to their musical interests and styles. I really appreciate that about her and I think you will too.

While waiting, couldn’t help noticing that he was extremely popular and knowledgeable. The store does have other repair personnel as well. They have instruments for sale as well as rental.

The school also provides a summer camp teaching song writing and the workings of recording in a studio environment which my daughter also attended. Jenny Wagner: We love Wauwatosa School of Music! It's great seeing my 10-year old pick up and learn songs from Weezer, the Beatles, and the White stripes on his electric guitar! The concerts have been very fun to attend, to see all the kids have a moment in the spotlight! The instructors are interested in the kids and flexible so the kids can also participate in their other sports activities. Highly recommend.
Stacy Ryan: I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar and at 42 years old I began taking privat lessons with Cory at the Wauwatosa School of Music. It has been a fantastic experience. My now 10 year old son began taking lessons with Cory at the same time and has since surpassed me in his skills! 😀 You get to pick what songs and types of music you want to play and they create the sheet music to match or challenge your skill level. My son especially loves that they offer multiple public performances throughout the year to show off his skills. He gets to be a real rock star. In addition to guitar, they offer voice, percussion, piano and other string instrument lessons. I fully endorse this business.

James Homann: My brother and I have been sound check students since the studio opened, and I had taken two years of lessons with my teacher before its opening. The experience at sound check is much more personal than learning through a music store or a school band. It is clear that all of the instructors are very knowledgeable in their area and care about the students' learning.

Which greatly helped me start on the correct track. I perform for a living and assumed I was at my peak already. The skill set and technique I was taught has helped me reach new levels and for that I am very grateful.

Zamar Guitar: I needed a lot of work done on my guitar, new 3 way pick up switch, new strings, action lowered, and tremolo bridge fixed, polish, fretboard conditioned. Bob and Larry were awesome and got all the repairs and maintenance done within 24 hours. Guitar sounds amazing, pick up switch now works, and the guitar feels great! The price was very affordable as well, I will definitely be back, great shop!
