4worldlovers: The Camp story began over 20 years ago when Paul Hackbarth started Sound by Design. In 2012, Paul purchased 4044 N Oakland to house his growing DJ company, the building offered two storefronts and ample parking, which is exactly what Sound by Design needed. At the time of purchase, Paul was unsure of what to do with that newly vacant second storefront. During a conversation with village officials, Paul was asked what he thought Shorewood needed. Paul candidly answered that the city lacked any nightlife and needed a great local bar.

That same week Paul and his wife Natalia closed on their cabins up north. During their five hour drive, Paul mentioned the conversation he had with the village. He knew that he wanted to open a quaint neighborhood bar, that would be a great place for the community to gather. It was not until they walked into their cabin, lit a fire, sat down to enjoy a celebratory beer that Paul realized the theme for Camp. He told Natalia, “Let’s build a bar that looks like this cabin and represents what up north means to us”.

4worldlovers: Estabrook Beer Garden represents a return to an era that disappeared from our landscape with the start of Prohibition. It is the first truly public beer garden in America in nearly 100 years. Inspirations came from Milwaukee’s brewing legacy and the operation is modeled after beer gardens found in modern day Munich, Germany. The Estabrook Beer Garden is a place for all people to come together enjoy nature, a great beer and make new friends.


Estabrook Park lies on the banks of the Milwaukee River, the beer garden is set on a bluff just above a waterfall. Visitors arrive by foot, bicycle, automobile, kayak and canoe.


Park Amenities include trails, playgrounds, disc golf course, dog park, soccer fields & riverwalk

Estabrook Beer Garden features beers imported from the Munich Hofbräuhaus. We also offer local craft beer, cider, hard seltzer, draft root beer and Pepsi products. Beer is served in the traditional “Isar Seidel” dimpled glass mugs. Visitors are always welcome to bring their own favorite beer stein. Food is limited to beer garden basics of Bratwurst, Hot Dogs and our Famous Giant Fresh Baked Pretzel. Because the beer garden is truly a public place, visitors are welcome to bring picnic baskets with their favorite fare and soft drinks.


There will be no additional warnings. Outside alcohol will be confiscated and not returned. Violators may be ejected and ticketed. Alcohol is prohibited in all Milwaukee County Parks except where sold at licensed service areas and in specifically permitted picnic areas.

Grills are not allowed in the Beer Garden & Surrounding Park Area

The use of grills in Milwaukee County Parks is limited to designated picnic areas with hot coal disposal bins. Grilling is not allowed anywhere in or around the Beer Garden or the adjacent athletic fields.

You may bring food items and soft drinks of your choosing. We also allow deliveries of Pizzas and Sandwiches. Outside Event Catering Services are Strictly Prohibited. Catering Services within the beer garden are exclusively licensed to ABC Estabrook Inc. Please Contact the Beer Garden Office to discuss your needs.

All open seating at the Beer Garden is shared, Make new friends! Unoccupied tables may not be reserved with table clothes or other items. Tables are for people to sit at and may not be used for buffets. A limited number of reserved tables may be booked through the Beer Garden Office.

Only Official Parks & Beer Garden Vehicles may operate vehicles on service roads, pathways and lawns. All motor vehicles, motorcycles & motor scooters must remain in the paved parking lot area.

Smoking and Vaping is prohibited within 100 Feet of the Beer Garden and all Park Buildings. This is a Milwaukee County Ordinance and subject to citation for violation.

Estabrook Park Closes at 10pm – Last Call for the Beer Garden is at 9pm
