Judith Bulluck: School of Rock has been a game changer for our 10 year old musician! It is the highlight his week! The staff is awesome! Such an amazing welcoming place! We love School of Rock!!

Stacey Steilen: Loren has been wonderful! She has really connected with my daughter and she looks forward to her lesson with her every week.

Peggy Kiefert Krouse: The thing I love the most about School of Rock Shorewood is that all the students support each other. They show up to watch every performance and cheer each other on. It's like a family!

Amy Schlarb: Everyone is super friendly and helpful. My son’s instructors take the time after his lessons to discuss with us what he’s doing well and what things he can work on until next time. My son, who generally shies away from social situations with people he doesn’t know and was very hesitant about the group rehearsals, has really loved his experience! Highly recommend!

Grace Jackson: My family LOVES School of Rock! Our son is 6 and we can already tell that he is developing a love for music and the ability to ROCK!! Thank you!!

Tyler Buck: Cool

Samantha Burgos: My daughter loves SOC. The other day on the way to her drum lesson, we were listening to some music in the car. She broke down the drum part verbally for me, hopped out of the car, and then played it for her drum teacher at the start of class. I was floored. It was so cool to watch her analyze the music in real time and then put it into practice.

Benjamin Biddle: I love how professional and nice the staff are.

Saikat Mukhopadhyay: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value

Velia Tarnoff: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality

Casey Yost: Highly recommended! Caters to every ability level and makes these kids really feel like Rock Stars!

Mohammed Muallem: Excellent music training programs that meets young students needs. I enrolled my 15 years daughter to take intermediate piano lessons and she has learned a lot in few weeks via hands on training.

aubreyhr13: Quality of instruction

Owen Killoran: School of Rock rocks!

Kirk Tatnall Guitar Instruction: what do users think?

Andrew Becker: I had some previous experience with the guitar, but lacked some severe fundamentals with music theory. Kirk was able to identify where I was, what I was missing, and provided me specific exercises and songs that improved these fundamentals. I have a new understanding of music, and it really has made the guitar much more enjoyable!

Cheshire Waltz: He is a FANTASTIC instructor. I am not new to music, though I certainly could have been more consistent, and Kirk has explained and clarified musical concepts I have struggled with over 3 instruments and 15 years of casually playing like it was nothing. He's also very flexible to teaching you how you want to be taught and learning how you learn. The lessons also consist of whatever interests you, to jump around and try new things with him, or a lesson could just be asking questions if you want. I've had some wonderful instructors over the years but none of them have spoken my brain's language so to speak like Kirk. I'm really enjoying getting to know my guitar!

William Heppe: I got some guitar lessons as a gift for the holidays and have been loving them! With working retail my schedule can be pretty hectic, but luckily Kirk has online lessons that fit my schedule perfectly! Not only is the scheduling great, but he is also very patient. I have never learned an instrument before and it is going well because of his patience!

Kevin Franklin: I chose to start lessons with Kirk last year and my musical development and guitar skills have grown exponentially over that time. Kirk is a talented guitarist who has the ability to makelearning the guitar both accessible and fun. Also, with the Zoom/virtual lessons it is highly convenient. It is on the student to listen and practice as much as possible, but Kirk will give you all the tools you need to improve. He has a patient friendly demeanor, and he provides structured lessons but also is adaptable. Simply put he is an effective and fun teacher. Do yourself a favor and sign up with him before his schedule is too full.

Bob Fresen: In the past year, 2021, Kirk has upped his guitar teaching game by using personalized instructional videos that he makes specifically for me on what I need to work on that week. He uploads them to YouTube & sends emails them to me directly at the end of the session. I then can use them during the week to help guide my practice sessions. Amazing! This guy is a great teacher!Kirk is the best guitar teacher I've ever had! He was recommended to me by my guitar guru friend, Jack Grassel, for his excellent online teaching skills. I am very honored to now be one of Kirk's students. Jack calls him "one of the best guitar players in world". Jack would know about that. All I know is that he is a nice guy and a very prepared & conscientious instructor. I am learning about the electric guitar and music like never before.

Jessica Michaud: Learning guitar for the first time in my 40s could have been painful and demoralizing. Kirk as been a wealth of knowledge regarding both technique and musical theory. Never having played a stringed instrument, I was skeptical that I could learn virtually, or that Kirk would be able to see my strings and hand position, but he always knows if I have it right or wrong. Kirk is just simply a nice human and has been a joy to work with.

Tiffany Bruett: Kirk is a great musician who makes learning guitar techniques accessible for all levels of students. He is always positive and encouraging. The video platform is so convenient. I love not having leave my house and park. I've also recommended Kirk to friends who live outside of the area. I highly recommend Kirk as an instructor!

Angel Arreola: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueTaking online lessons with Kirk through Skype has really helped me improve as a guitarist and musician, overall would highly recommend Kirk as a guitar teacher!!

Lee Neagle: So I've been dabbling with guitar for decades, mostly video and tabs. During the pandemic I decided I finally wanted to get serious and take structured lessons and hopefully pick up some theory along the way. I found Kirk through a web search and at first was a little hesitant due to it being a video platform. My hesitation was unfounded as soon as we got into lessons, he has got a great set up in terms of video and audio quality plus he can easily screen share lessons or tips. There is no time wasted dragging your instrument to a location unboxing it and tuning before the lesson you just jump right in!He is a great teacher, in the 6 months we've been working together my playing and understanding of music has increased tremendously. Things are finally making sense which makes me appreciate the guitar even more. He is also wonderful at helping you figure out more abstract songs that don't have tab or online lessons which has been great!I could not recommend Kirk enough if you're looking to increase your playing ability.

Ingrid R-M: I took virtual lessons with Kirk, and while I had some doubts about the platform, I can say they were effective and I got a lot out of it. Kirk's also incredibly patient and took the time to answer my questions, which helped to improve my understanding of music. Above all, he made learning fun with his enthusiasm and teaching methods. Highly recommend.

David Larson: All the stellar reviews you are reading on this site are spot on. I was searching online for a guitar instructor that could help me take my playing to a new level. I played for many years but longed for the ability to solo, correct mistakes I was making from being self-taught and explore different forms of music. After a few months of highly effective video lessons over Zoom I find myself encouraged, challenged, supported and inspired. Kirk has a unique gift of combining his expertise, stellar playing and clear love of music into a teaching style that is highly effective and motivational. If you are looking either to start playing or take yourself up to higher levels of performance you have found the right place.

Jim R: Our son has been taking virtual lessons with Kirk since May and we can’t say enough good things about it. He looks forward excitedly to each lesson and is energized and motivated afterward, wanting to practice constantly to milk as much progress as possible out of each one. We were initially skeptical about virtual lessons but it hasn’t been an impediment at all. Highly recommend!

Joe Phillips: I asked the best guitarists I know for a recommendation as my son wanted to start playing guitar - Kirk Tatnall was the name they provided. Kirk is talented, kind, and patient. He pushes his students without stressing them and makes learning guitar what is should be - fun! He communicates well with me as a parent and motivates my son. I highly recommend him.

Cindy Catania: This past September, due to pandemic, I signed my son up with Kirk after researching for a guitar instructor who would be a very effective and excellent virtual teacher. Kirk delivered! My son loves his lesson times with Kirk so much that he would routinely carve out time DAILY on his own to practice and strum on his guitar WITHOUT me telling him to because he enjoys it so much. That's successful teaching in my opinion! My son feels Kirk connects, understands, and is patient with him...and it's not always easy to understand "teenagers" if you know what I mean. After 8 months of lessons, my son has started to take part in the church worship team as a backup guitarist - it's a small church, but still, that's what Kirk did, built up his confidence and love for guitaring! I would definitely recommend Kirk to anyone asking. He's patient, kind, and understands his students, bringing out the best in them! A+!!

Elaine Gearheart: by not being in person with this method. It even gives me a chance to sit in on the video call after dinner is cleaned up and just listen to them play.My son and I would highly recommend Kirk to anyone looking to learn to play the guitar at any age!

Mike Buckholdt: I have had the opportunity to work with Kirk for 5 months now. Kirk is an amazing guitar player and teacher who is patient, adapts his teaching approach to the student, and makes learning to play guitar a lot of fun. Every session I learn something new which makes me enthusiastic to practice in between lessons. I highly recommend Kirk for guitar lessons to anyone!

Dan Wilde: I couldn't asked for a better teacher than Kirk. He's patient, always willing to help, and encourages you all along the way. Being an older student, I thought learning the guitar was going to be difficult, but Kirk made it super easy. He broke things down in to easy manageable lessons to focus on a few key things. Slowly things were brought together and I was playing the guitar! I've been taking lessons since the beginning of the year and look forward to something fun each week. This has been such a wonderful experience! Thanks Kirk!

Wauwatosa School of Music: what do users think?

Tanya E: Wauwatosa School of music has taught my son so much! He initially joined for the purpose of learning how music theory works and how it is utilized in different music genres, but left knowing so much more. My son loves to play the guitar but after Wauwatosa School of music he has grown to love the piano as well. He had a smile on his face after every lesson with Ryan. I would highly recommend!

Janice Burch: I recently took lessons to learn ukelele from instructor Ryan Johnson. He gave me everything I needed to continue learning on my own time, and come back for more advanced instruction. I highly recommend the Wauwatosa School of Music and Ryan, for anyone who wants to learn ukele, guitar or any instrument--- no matter what your age or level of experience. Thanks Ryan!

Kindy Anderson: is super helpful and nice. My son has been taking drum lessons since the summer with Jonathon and he’s the best! He’s so good with kids and has a way of teaching that builds confidence while still making it super fun. My son is a big fan!

Randy Lee: Highly recommend

Karri Tait: Both my boys love Wauwatosa School of Music! We thoroughly enjoy watching the school put on their concerts, as well!

Andrea Schulz: My daughter has been going to the Wauwatosa School of Music for 6 years now, taking guitar and piano lessons. She absolutely loves it there!!! Her progress has been amazing and we can't say enough nice things about the owner Cory. The school also provides a summer camp teaching song writing and the workings of recording in a studio environment which my daughter also attended. The school also provides opportunities for the kids to play in front of audiences at different locations around the city; Tosa Fest, Mo's Irish Pub, Steaming Cup, Hart Fest, etc... I guarantee your child will thrive and enjoy every second of their lessons here at this music school. I fully recommend the Wauwatosa School of Music to anyone!!!

Jenny Wagner: We love Wauwatosa School of Music! It's great seeing my 10-year old pick up and learn songs from Weezer, the Beatles, and the White stripes on his electric guitar! The concerts have been very fun to attend, to see all the kids have a moment in the spotlight! The instructors are interested in the kids and flexible so the kids can also participate in their other sports activities. Highly recommend.

Stacy Ryan: I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar and at 42 years old I began taking privat lessons with Cory at the Wauwatosa School of Music. It has been a fantastic experience. My now 10 year old son began taking lessons with Cory at the same time and has since surpassed me in his skills! 😀 You get to pick what songs and types of music you want to play and they create the sheet music to match or challenge your skill level. My son especially loves that they offer multiple public performances throughout the year to show off his skills. He gets to be a real rock star. In addition to guitar, they offer voice, percussion, piano and other string instrument lessons. I fully endorse this business.

Sabree 3: Can't say enough about this school. Cory is an awesome instructor. Students learn cool songs as well as curriculum based material. The performance are great.

Serena Clardie: is a priceless one. This is the place to go if you want to see an interest in music blossom and skills develop.

Calvin D: Our 7 daughter started piano lessons with Bethany at the Wauwatosa School of Music over a year ago. She has loved going to every single piano lesson and is always excited to show us what she has learned. Cory's approach to teaching music, in the language of each child, is fantastic. We're excited to see our daughter progress through music as well as other instruments and love supporting a home-grown business that is doing a great job.

Brass Bell Music Store: what do users think?

Melanie Hinchey: The staff is extremely helpful. I've always gotten amazing customer service.

Julieann Fields: Ben was amazing. Went in for a trombone, no hassles, he listened, knew his stuff and was so professional. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend!!!!

Brett Pride: were the only store to have the ukulele strings I was searching for!

Sean Wiler: We've used Brass Bell for all our student band needs, and it's always been a great experience. They are super friendly and helpful and have always made sure we have exactly what we need. The store is also a beautiful space. I believe they offer lessons for certain instruments as well. Definitely recommend for band student services, or if you're maybe just looking to get back into playing the bass again!😄Update: still friendly, still helpful, still awesome 👍

Naomi Flores: All the staff are great. Ben was especially helpful and kind! The store has tons of great instruments for great prices!

too many phils: I went here to check the condition on my cello as i'm looking to sell it. John had a string tech take a look and she was quick and knowledgeable, explaining what she saw. John then explained what they can offer as well as what my options were outside of selling to them.I left with a clear picture of how to move forward, as I had no clue how to go about selling my cello. They were extremely helpful.

Erik Lindenberg: !

Bella Ratayczak: Very nice products. It's a pretty small store so there isn't much selection, however the atmosphere is great! They also have ukulele lessons which are very informative. They also occasionally host small concerts which are very entertaining to listen/watch.

Kathleen Schilz: Very polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. Great music store!

Steve Witte: Blake at Brass Bell Music was very helpful in finding a repair part for my 1970 vintage King trombone. I know it took a fair amount of his time for this small sale amount.

Trevor Mooney: I drove up from Kenosha to get a double bass rental. Ben and his staff went above and beyond - thanks!!

CC F: I just had to quick write a review for Brass Bell. I was in town for a music festival where my kids were scheduled to play. I had forgotten a super important music book and they had it in stock, but unfortunately it was after store hours. They stayed open and let me drive over 20 mins after closing and had a smile and continued to be helpful. We are all set now for festival! Thank you again for going above and beyond for your customers.

Michele Y: Staff so nice when I had issues with a recent purchase. They actually helped me out it together when I couldn’t find the screws. THATS great service that sets one shop apart from the rest!

John High: Always a pleasant experience! Meeting the musical needs of the community and schools for many years.

Sound Check Studios: what do users think?

Sara Clark: Taking lessons with Josh Becker. Such a great teacher!

Nic Bain: I highly recommend Mike and Sound Check Studios for guitar lessons. Mike is a fantastic guitar teacher: he’s extraordinarily knowledgeable, fun to learn from, and always keeps it interesting. Five stars!

coltyn vondeylen: I rent out space to teach voice lessons at this studio, it's always been really straightforward and everyone is easy to work worth. Everything is just how it should be.

Tracy Cook: Justin is a well mannered professional that has a passion for his craft. He has a clear vision for how he wants to teach and before you know it you’ll start to see it. That’s good teaching if you ask me.

James Homann: My brother and I have been sound check students since the studio opened, and I had taken two years of lessons with my teacher before its opening. The experience at sound check is much more personal than learning through a music store or a school band. It is clear that all of the instructors are very knowledgeable in their area and care about the students' learning.

Elliott Grassman: musicians.

John Hutchinson: We're going to be renting some quality lighting equipment for our wedding, Michael is a pro and the whole experience has been great.

Susan Grassman: A great place for children to learn music and different instruments.

Mike Gaethke: Awesome experience! Rented a large PA system and it was delivered to my venue when I needed it and Mike was very easy to work with!

Dave Wacker: and makes you feel at home. Make sure to ask about the accordion lessons.

Marr'Lo Parada: I started my voice lessons earlier this year. From the start the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. My instructor was quick to determine & assess my level of performance. Which greatly helped me start on the correct track. I perform for a living and assumed I was at my peak already. The skill set and technique I was taught has helped me reach new levels and for that I am very grateful.

Melissa Galecke: Great environment! Lots of positive energy flowing through this business. Outstanding services at great prices.. Definitely worth checking out!!

Jason Hellman: The staff is professional, knowledgeable, experienced and patient. Great for players of all ages and levels of ability with many instruments to choose from, not to mention at a price that beats the competition.

Wisconsin Conservatory of Music: what do users think?

Scott Nehring: So far so good. Excellent instructor.

Jimi Sellars: I used to get Tortured in there regularly. lolI study there off and on for Guitar, song writing, music composition. Always good teachers! Great old historic building as well.

Brent Miller: Way to go Annie B.This is my “first ever” Google review and it is written for Annie B and the Milwaukee Music Academy.I’m in my late 50s and in search of a local guitar instructor; I played as a teenager before life got in the way. I returned recently and managed to knock off the cobwebs by myself and improved beyond my previous level. However, I eventually understood I needed an outside musical influence to grow beyond my own frame of reference. My initial search for a teacher, a web-based service, matched me with Annie B. After our first conversation, I concluded that she was a bit too far away to make that weekly trip; would have spent twice as much time commuting than in actual instruction. Due to the distance, she could not help me directly, but she used her social media presence to find someone local for me to investigate. Within 12 hours she relayed back, 4 people she trusted in my area.I’ve since linked up with one of those people and I will take my first lesson today. In a way, I kind of wish she were closer because she was very helpful and personable. I think we would have worked well together. Thanks again Annie and remember, this is my “first ever” google review, posted for you!

John Graham: Excellent instructor and beautiful building.

김미정: Really professional and kind, loving instructors they have. The lecture has made big differences. I definitely recommend WCM!

Laura Brusky: My daughter is taking drumming classes with Ms Shiner and he is a awesome teacher! She has special needs and she has limited understanding of music and cannot read or write but he can find a easy way for her to learn different rhythms and memorize them and also have fun!

Wujie Zhang: every time.

Liddie Collins: I am really having an enjoyable journey learning the violin. My instructor J. Steinbart keeps it interesting and fun. There is a lot to learn and my structor is breaking it down and making it learnable. !!!

Brian Peterson: Beautiful building and wonderful staff!

Matt Starr: to adults. There are classes for many different instruments. If you sign up for personal lessons, they run sessions each season which also includes some type of performance you will be able to perform at. During the time of COVID-19, they have shifted to the option to do remote lessons over Zoom. They have scholarships to provide opportunities to those who would not otherwise have the ability to pay.

Eli Kelling: Amazing people!

debra hardiman: Studied jazz theory and jazz piano with the great Tony King and Martha Artis. The music lives on!#foreverlearning

Top Shelf Guitar Shop: what do users think?

Joe Gorman: You can great deals on used gear there, and some of the best setups repairs and service around, provided by knowledgable and nice people.

Mitchell Conn: I brought them a bass I had purchased used recently, I was a little weary of the bass in the first place as it was a bigger purchase and I knew it had issues to tend to. Took it to these guys for a deluxe setup and to address these issues and all I have to say is, wow. Turn around time was exact to what he originally quoted me, price was extremely reasonable especially compared to shops of a similar caliber in the area, setup was top notch. These guys care about their work and you can tell - this is where I will be bringing my instruments going forward. Thanks again guys!

Allan Krezminski: The Manager Jeff and staff Marshall offer the kind of knowledgeable, friendly and helpful service that one does not find much any more. Definitely a Bay View gem.😉

gabriel smith: Nice little guitar shop. Fantastic staff. They have set up several of my electrics, all have been close to flawless

Ray Odya: Took my “untunable” Yamaha Acoustic Guitar in to Top Shelf. They replaced the missing saddle and completely restrung and tuned up my baby the same day. Took them 1/2 hour and their charges were extremely reasonable.I’d recommend Top Shelf Guitar Shop as top shelf!

Lars Russell: Boutique guitar shop specializing in repairs. See Jeff or his staff for expert service and maybe a story or two.

Luis Jimenez: Great customer service and prompt turnaround.

DoctorFeelgood_: I have had 3 guitars repaired here over the past few months. All the repairs I've had done still hold up to this day 0 complaints. I've also bought strings and cases from here and the prices are very good. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. Anytime I need a repair done I come here because I know they do good quality work.

Elisabeth Grassl: Marshall is really knowledgeable and was great helping me figure out what was needed, since I know nothing about guitars.. He was very helpful getting our Peavey guitar back in working order again so my daughter can learn to play it.

Andrew Huber: Not the biggest selection of parts or guitars on hand, but the atmosphere and staff are great, and I'm sure if they don't have it they can probably get it

Z. Muffett (Muffenstein): I installed new pick ups in my guitar and was having some issues with the bridge pick up and volume knobs.Dropped it off with these fine gents to troubleshoot my bad installation, about an hour later they called and told me it was ready. They easily diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and set up my pick ups for only $30. They are knowledgeable, affordable, and friendly.Hats off to this place. 10/10 would recommend.

Kevin Ponec: I take all my electric guitars here. They always do a great job. Love these guys.

Robert MacKenzie: He identified a guy in NC or somewhere that used to work for a prominent pickup manufacturer but was apparently overwhelmed by his own ideas: the original pickup, re-wrapped and reinstalled using the dusty old velvety wiring at a life-affirming price. I am going about my business with this, my teenage telecaster. Thanks, Top Shelf! The guy re-used the string.

chris thomson: Nice people, very helpful.

Dave VanSweden: The only place I go for my guitar needs and services.

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Kadeem Frazier: Greg was very helpful thank you again.

Yash B: Rick is a rockstar! I was looking for a hardshell case for my acoustic guitar for international travel. He understood the requirements and showed me all the options. He didn't try to sell me the most expensive one. Further he matched the price from an online listing and gave me a great deal on an awesome case. I'm happy to report that my acoustic guitar arrived safely. Thanks Rick!

Ms C: Great store, but a lot of items need to be ordered. Overall great service and good entertainment items.

Michelle Peter Siegler: Thanks for letting me share my musical talents with you guys.

David Juniel: Love the place they always have great 👍 deals

Jesus Ochoa: Great place for musicians instruments

Joseline Montanez: My new go to place

Debbie Menk: Excellent service, selection, and prices. This store is a 45-minute drive for me and well worth it. I bought a Yamaha digital piano with accessories. The salesperson was extremely helpful in making my selection and advising on what accessories I might want. It took me about 15 minutes to set everything up, and I played my new piano for hours. I couldn't be more pleased. I had every accessory I would have wanted, but nothing I did not need. It is the perfect setup. Great place.

Sayem Ahmed: Good place for music lovers.

Vukasin Gvozdenovic: It is always pleasure to do business with them...

Amanda M: My husband got a really awesome guitar 🎸 and I saw a keyboard that I have my eye on now ☺️ very nice and helpful staff.

Jeff Trunk: The musician's toy store. Guitars, Drums, Amps, digital Keyboards, PA audio, New and used gear, and accessories.

Robert Hinz: Steve, the guitar tech is the best. He is affordable and will not gouge you for more cash and when I tried to tip him he refused. He definitely knows his stuff. I have had him repair 2 of my Basses and I couldn't be happier with the results and the promptness of the repairs. I drive 45 minutes to see him and it is well worth it. I hope Guitar Center knows what an asset he is to the staff. He is easy to get a hold of. Keep up the great work Steve and I know where I am going the next time I have an issue with any of my Basses.
