Bigsby's Sewing Center: what do users think?

Scott W: sewing machine. Got great service by the staff, looking at and discussing the different Bernina machines. It's a nice location, but a little small and a bit hard to move around.

Jackie Krueger: Wonderful service! Repaired a small problem I had while I was there! Very accommodating and informative.

Cornelia Beilke: Lovely people and so very helpful to a newby!

Tina Bee: The best source for great sewing machines and knowledgeable information about the use and care of them.

Esther Moore: An amazing quilt shop! Racks displaying high quality quilt fabric throughout the store.Helpful employees, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and cheerful!Well organized, stocking everything you need for your projects, including sewing machines!Samples on display for inspiration.Good parking.Well lit.Clean, easy to find just what you're looking for.Highly recommended, well worth the trip!!

Lisa Remer: Excellent customer service.

Luke Burkholder: I’m not the fabric artist in the family, but I have been in here a few times for some project supplies, and the staff is always helpful. In my opinion their main business seems to be selling sewing machines, and just a few brands, so they won’t have everything you could imagine a “sewing center” might have, but what they do have is pretty good quality.

Ashley Modlinski: Staff and so nice and so helpful. My mom has a very nice but old machine and they keep it in working order. We don't trust anyone else to service the machine.

Christine Canino: Very helpful!

Barbie Poseley: Awesome! Rosemary is so sweet! Loved all her show and tell!

Yehuda “Richard” Goldberg: They've got a great selection of imported fabrics and a really nice Bernina display. Staff knows their stuff!

Carol K: had the fabric I was looking for. Nice helpful people working there.

Yuna Lee: I love here the only place I could get Echino fabric in this area!

Norman G: male questions about the machines they had. There was absolutely no pressure to buy one over another. It's really what you want to do with it and what options each offers. Today, 5/6/24 I finally plugged the machine in to see if it even turned on and to my surprise it seems like it would work fine. I did chuckle a bit as there's a foot pedal to make it work. However, for what I'm thinking of using it for I believe it has more than I need as to options. Tomorrow I have an appointment with my massage therapist and will take the machine with so I can stop in and discuss the value of keeping it. Hopefully a sewing class will start soon and an opening will be available. I look forward to working with the two ladies I met.

Log Cabin Sewing Company: what do users think?

Cheri Graffenius: Such great friendly service for altering, can not wait to do a a sewing project with my daughter. 😊

M W: I'm not what you'd call a "true quilter" but am doing a quilt for my daughter. I almost had all the material I needed except for one other tonal color that JoAnn Fabrics didnt have. I googled and happened to find Log Cabin. WHAT. A. PLEASANT. SURPRISE!!!! The owner, Danica, was so extremely helpful, even directing me to a different store since she didn't carry what she felt would work best either for my quilt. So refreshing to have a business have this kind of customer service!! But the biggest smile I had is that this shop still exists!! A place where quilters can go, work on their projects together, help eachother, and of course get the professional help right there from the owner herself. Oh my... this is a gem I pray stays around a long long time!Thank you for being there and all the help and direction you gave for my quilt project!! You really helped me a lot!!

Robert Mc Mullen: This place is wonderful! I live the place and the people within it. A+++

K no reply: Shop local!I was googling through the big box stores looking for a solution for a repair project…when it dawned on me: What am I doing? I need someone with experience who understands sewing. So, I turned to a local business and got exactly what I needed—encouragement, expertise, and personal service.Danica encouraged me to bring the project in. We looked at it together, brainstormed solutions & I couldn’t be happier! She made me feel welcome & at ease. And, I have a solid plan for how to finish my project.I look forward to returning for classes and a “Midnight Sew”, as well as a chance to look through the beautiful bolts of fabric.

Joy Blodgett: Very kind people own this shop.

Lauri: I have recently decided to reinvent myself through my childhood skills in sewing . I searched around for local refresher classes and am blessed to have found Danica and her staff. Everyone there has been welcoming and encouraging. I recently completed several beginner projects that I am delighted 😀 with. After just a couple of weeks I feel confident in my abilities to begin my first quilt. I have no doubt I have found the best place possible for any supplies and support I will need. Thanks 🙏 for everything!

Robin Corozza: Great small local business. Donica and staff are very knowledgeable. Great place to purchase a new machine as well as have your current one serviced. Lots of fun classes offered as well

paul schultz: Great place. Well run. Staff knows what they are doing

Fire Cooking: Wonderfully place, great staff, amazing classes

Grubes Towing & Repair: Thank you for helping to provide the venue to disperse the much needed masks for the Masked Sewists of SE Wisconsin!

PMG: Donica went above and beyond to assist us with all our sewing questions.

Kelly Taylor-Schaus: Every time I attend a class, the instructor has been kind and helpful to this inexperienced sew-er. The classes are accessible and enjoyable for beginners and experienced alike.

Dianne Gleixner: A fun place to sew, socialize, have quilt tops quilted, and shop for fabric! Quilt and general sewing classes too.

Patched Works, Inc: what do users think?

Rodney Gile: Fantastic shop for fabric and quilting services! The staff is always friendly, with a boundless resource of sewing knowledge. The fabric selection is huge and changes every time you visit. They showcase various projects throughout the store to inspire your next sewing adventure. Just go visit! A+++

Mary Venus: Julie and staff are always very helpful.

Kate Ballengee: Heidi is the best and so helpful! Great shop!

Marsha Nicholson: A great price on a fabric that’s sold out almost everywhere else, delivered before I expected it, including a very sweet handwritten thank you and free instructions for a quilting technique. Highest recommendation! Thank you!!!

Sally Fox: I ordered some fabric that I couldn't find in my local area and found it in a number of shops where I could get it online. Patched Works had the best combination of fabric + shipping price of the several sites where it was available. Good service, great communication, and the fabric came with a surprise free paper pattern and QR Code to their youtube channel. Very nice! I would definitely choose them again!

Jennifer Spell: Patched Works, and Julie, are fantastic! I am in Florida and I enjoy receiving the 'Happy Mail' packages. The prices are very reasonable and I love the free shipping option. I follow them on Facebook and Instagram and they are active on both. Must Sew TV is a must watch on FB live. Julie always entertains and I get to see featured products that are not on the website. I appreciate all the effort Julie puts forth to help me each time.

Rebecca Geissler: Best selection of cotton fabrics I have found found in the area. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful

Dave DeBruine: Great selection of fabrics

Terri Hedgecock: Super friendly staff & a great selection!Went again today. It's been awhile. Still a great shop with great staff.

Kaylie Schneider: This store is so great! They have lots of beautiful fabrics in all styles and the staff is so friendly. I first visited in December while in town visiting my mil and it was my first stop on this visit because they’re just so welcoming. They have a decent selection of precuts scattered throughout the store as well as notions and patterns which are perfect to pick up as souvenirs each visit. As a younger quilter I am sometimes talked down to when I visit a quilt shop but the employees here are always so friendly and encouraging. They have a good parking lot and are easy to find even for an out of towner like myself. I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in the area to pick up more fabric for the stash!

grace blanchard: Ex

Ann Shafer Von Tersch: Could spend hours looking and shopping. Service was awesome, helpful and friendly. I'll definitely visit again when back in town.

Jinny Waters: Very friendly and knowledgeable.Alot of beautiful fabric and kits also available.Love to shop here.

Gail Krecklow: I'm a quilting newbie. When I came into the store with my pattern, I had a lot of questions. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you.

Cynthia Putnam: What a wonderful place to come to be inspired. Excellent fabric selections and fabulous staff always polite and so ready to help.

Milwaukee Sewing Machine Company: what do users think?

Jane Busse: So sad they are closing. I like to stop in on occassion to see what new machines they have & to buy more thread.

Ericka Lang: as repairing would be more than the value, they were so helpful in looking it over to confirm the problem on the spot. Great service!

Rosalia Mulford: Excellent service and quality sewing notions!

Mary Seramur: I’m going in today with my machine for a tuneup… this business is top shelfThe woman who blamed the store for smashing the old machine from an estate sale with a worn out base is not being realistic… old is old …. Worn out is worn out… she expected that an old machine is going to work like the new machines is not seeing the big pictureEspecially cuz it to her it shouldn’t cost anything to bring it up to speedI see this in my business as it’s rare people respect your skills and experience and expect you to do things for nothingMilwaukee Sewing Machine Shop is great

Susan Collier: They are kind people with a sincere desire to be of service. If they can't provide you with a machine maybe it's not made

Karina zastro: My very old sewing machine broke. So I choose to go to a sewing machine store that has been in business for many years. Great caring people work there. I told them what I had and what I wanted. They have a variety of all kinds of machines there. Judy showed me around and took the time to make sure I was happy with the machine I picked. She gives lessons she is so knowledgeable and talented at sewing and embroidering. The store has lots of sewing needs. From rolling carts to put your machine in and embroidery designs to buy. Definitely go there. You will be so pleased.

Madam Chino: the best!! thank you for the stellar service

Patricia Taylor: I bought my 1 st machine 43 years ago from the Uncle of Don who owns the company now. Great place Great service and I bought 2nd 18+ years old and now going to get my 3rd. 😊😊.

Vera Nowak: Excellent customer service

Tim Schumacher: As a millennial and a guy, with no interest in sewing, I was anxious. But left feeling like I met some new friends.I knew nothing, left knowing a little bit more but being 100% confident in my wife's birthday present.Free classes with machine purchases, support and maintenance through ownership and the women who I met there, are living, breathing, angels. Also my mom told me to go here. Don't disappoint my mom.

My Material Matters Quilt Shop: what do users think?

Alice Boese: Love the store and Maureen

Patty Miliacca: Material Matters is a bright and cheery quilt shop. The staff was so helpful in choosing fabrics for a baby quilt. So many options. Beautiful fabrics!

Suzanne Collins: I recently took a demo here - “First step to quilting success, it all starts with the 1/4” seam” and found it to be very informative and a great refresher course for anyone, new or seasoned quilter. The owner took the time to go over things that will help you successfully and accurately sew a 1/4” seam, how prepare & cut your fabric and many tips & tools to help you along the way. I would highly recommend taking this demo. You won’t be disappointed.

Jenny McKillen: Great, friendly quilt shop! Maureen led a helpful demo session that helped hone our skills. I look forward to more demos/classes, and ,of course, shopping!

Milwaukee Area Technical College Downtown Milwaukee Campus: what do users think?

Felicia Wilkins: Very helpful in finding resources

Marvin Pineda: This college expects the best out of you when nNo other reality can accept the worst of you. And I mean this when you find yourself the core curriculums you find yourself to work, you will find the workplace safety becomes pinned between a ladder of a few to honors received by none lest it becomes a receptionist to a catering service. – If you’re looking to be a plumber, here’s where to start, because if I was arguing carpentry over metallurgy in such a calm weathered hallway, you’d be screaming acts of God till the trickle point landed on your face with your belly bestowing all the previous laughter you thought you could manage by yourself. You see, I’d be sitting with the Dean, the Staff of Administration, and an S1185 form wondering whether or not to let a blind man walk out with his cane before I found out who ruined my Mother’s marriage and career progression to her children without blood on my knuckles following WI ST. 118.35, and an Honorable Admission of Servitude seeing as my own efforts will linger the halls into a transferable credit of Guiness World Record Readership to a statement that will leave you to question what the Commissioner is going to say about it. – After all, when school is close by, I’m just looking to form my retirement.Want to challenge that signature? Or leave it in chalk? Lifeless? There’s a little more to me than you knew, and a whole much more I circled around when deciding a chance would be glory.-

Abster Asgard: the field you want to be in. This is one of the best places to go.They have an active news station here that lends out thier studio to MATC and if you take that degree you end will work with people who are actively in the feild. They get you hands on with equipment within the 1st 2 weeks consistently and are very accommodating for accessibility. Half these reviews are reviewing the school as a whole... and you should not go here for a school name you should go here for hands on experience. I will say the school body is unhelpful and if you really want help go through you teachers and program heads.

T3LLA: Great school if you’re ready to buckle down and focus! Universities can have a lot going on and be really distracting, but this school has a balance. There’s definitely fun activities every now and then but when it comes to the academics, they will not leave you hanging either. The classroom sizes are reasonable, giving you the chance to have all of your questions heard and answered.

Alexander Salas: My experience in MATC IT Computer Support Specialist program is limited but good so far. I chose to pursue this degree because it lines up well with my current work experience and career goals. So far, I have been able to take all my classes online with no scheduled class times, so I can complete assignments at my own pace without interfering with my work schedule. Another thing this program does well, is that it offers options to achieve many different certifications on your way to a degree. They also work with businesses to help their student get jobs after graduating. I would recommend this program to someone looking to get into IT Support as a career.

Britanni Hildenbrand: I am in my sixth week taking online courses at MATC. I have chosen the IT Support Associate Degree program, for two reasons: One the program is only two years, I’ll be able to launch into the job market faster, and because IT is such a diverse, and fast growing career path, I know I will find a fit into the IT world upon graduation. I chose MATC because MATC is convenient and conventional. I can take classes online, at my own pace, and be on campus for the classes I need more focus and dedication to. This IT program combined with my 10 plus years customer service experience, I know I will be able to reach any career goal I set. Now, while my interest in computers and knack for problem solving I know this career path will be suitable for me, however, to any prospective student looking for a quick money type of career, this program is not for you. This program consists of lots of physical and mental work, also taking consideration of the customers you are serving. If a prospective student welcomes challenges and is comfortable with asking questions and not feeling intimidated by the mass amount of information you will retain then this is a program for you. Prospective students should also be aware that they don’t have to work or figure stuff out alone, one of my favorite accommodations is having access to tutoring, whether online or in person- at all campuses. Fellow future students should also know that acquiring their degree at MATC is a smart money move, students can save thousands of dollars getting their education here, as opposed to a four year college/university. Future students should also know that credits will transfer to a four year college such as MSOE or UWM.

Kipi Guentner: I've worked here for decades after being a student here myself.

Sew Much More: what do users think?

Suzanne Uttech: , I truly appreciate Sew Much More, its friendly and knowledgeable staff, and amazing selection of classes, machines, fabric, notions, and more! I follow the Facebook group and love watching Tuesdays at 2 with Wendy, who always makes me laugh with her joke of the week!

theresa memmel: Have purchased 2 machines from here. Lessons are excellent and service is superior. Lots of threads. Accessories and material. Clubs are fun and informative. Highly recommend.

Theresa Muehlbauer: The first time I walked into Sew Much Much more, I had a 30 year old sewing machine in need of service and not one clue about how to sew. Every employee I've spoken with since that day, whether when I was shopping or taking classes, has been incredibly kind and more than happy to help answer the many, many questions I had. I took their beginner's course this past fall and, in one two-hour session, I made a pillowcase. This may not seem like a big deal to experienced sewers, but I could not have been more thrilled. I've now also taken their Beginner's skill building course and am signing up for one-off project sessions. Thanks to Sew Much More, I can now say that I sew, I enjoy doing it, and feel like I have what will hopefully be a lifelong hobby. I cannot recommend them enough. They truly are a one stop shop for whatever you need!

Christine Day: Was undecided about buying this machine. I decided yes and after 3 days I know I made the right decision. The machine is lighter in weight than my old Bernina 1230. This e475 is lighter but offers all that I could possibly want. Very easy to use and has a multitude of stitches. The day I went to Sew Much More - Waukesha, there was someone to give a demo and answer any questions. Who could ask for more.Take a trip to your Bernina store! You won’t be disappointed!I

Janice Fletcher: Everyone at Sew Much More is friendly and helpful- the employees as well as the shoppers!

Lynn Schulz: Extremely friendly, engaged, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. Best machine service too! Do not hesitate to visit this store for your sewing needs!

Linda Catterson: . Great selection of cotton, fur and even knits! The store also sells buttons you won't find elsewhere.

Pam Uhan: One of the nicest group of people to work with. Very friendly service and helpful when you purchase a machine. Brad does a great job on servicing the machines and has helped me out on more that one jam I've gotten myself into! Kathy has become a friend I can count on when I have any questions regarding embroidery. They have a huge display of thread and notions. With their expansion, this will be a go to place for machines and service. Highly recommend Frank's Sewing Center. Thank you Brad and Kathy for all your help!!!!

Kim Stenz: Sew Much More is an amazing place to find material, notions, thread, batting, classes, sewing machine repair, etc… You come as one person into the store & leave as a family member & add so so many friendships! Best place in town for all your crafting & questions.

Donna Deuster: I have been shopping at Sew Much More for many years. Brad took over the business from his grandfather when it was "Franks Sewing Center". He maintained the same quality and expertise that he learned from his grandfather and has continued to build on it. He strives to have an expert and knowledgeable staff. He has grown and expanded to offer everything you need to Sew and Sew Much More!!! They will educate you with on going classes and offer helpful advice on any project you have questions on. I remember getting step by step instructions on my first machine embroidery project. It turned out beautiful. Their prices are fair and competitive. The selections for everything from fabric to needles to machines and more is outstanding. I could go on and on. This a definitely a place you will fall in love with for a lifetime for all your sewing needs.

Cheri Allen: Great Sewing/ quilt shop in Waukesha, easy to find, lots of sewing machines for sale at every price range and the store calendar is full of great clubs and classes

Kathryn Krenz: Love this store! Lots of fabulous fabrics and many, many other sewing needs, machines, machine accessories and the service machines. Not anything more you could want. And for me, the best part, I don’t have to drive to Milwaukee. It’s in my backyard.

Sarah Carl: Every time I go in, everyone is so nice. The turn around on getting my sewing machine serviced is always fast.

Beth Sallee: Great service. Friendly staff. Love the classes and all the wonderful products available to purchase. You’re in good hands. Customer service absolutely the best

Lin Sebena: Sew Much More is my go to place for all my sewing needs: classes, material , notions, sew machine tune-ups and more! The Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and kind! They answer all my questions - with patience.I've been a SMM customer for over 20 years and am pleased to recommend them!,

Jean M: I purchased a stripology ruler that was on sale and ordered a part for my sewing machine. Very smooth transactions.

Jackie Hillman: Sew Much More is THE place to shop! Such a friendly and helpful staff, excellent machine repair done quickly, and HUGE selection of fabrics and accessories!

Cheryl Glander: My favorite sewing spot! Superior, friendly customer service!

Julie Zaccaria: Great shop with everything for a quilter and sew much more! From machines to clips and pins, this shop has it all!

Zastrow Upholstery: what do users think?

Faith OLEARY:

Debby Hetzel: Bruce was knowledgeable and helpful with fabric selection. Price adjustment immediate upon misunderstanding of how much work was needed. Quite work. I highly recommend.

Adam Brissman: Unbelievable work, restored two large very difficult pieces for us, and they turned out better than we could have possibly imagined!

Debra Donnenfield: Bruce is incredibly helpful, excellent workmanship and so many swatch book's to choose from! I highly recommend!

Elly Alioto: Beautiful work

Bob Cesarec: We went to Zastrow;s upholstery for our large job of 13 outdoor cushions for our L-shaped sofa. All 13 striped cushions upholstered perfectly and completed before the promised date. The welt was sewn evenly and the cushions did not have any puckering or wrinklesin the corners.! A perfect job! Thank you Bruce for your commitment to quality and detail. You are an exceptional upholsterer.

Irene Haley: . I highly recommend Zastrow Upholstery.

Blick Art Materials: what do users think?

Francesco Magestro: The prices are a little high, but they're quality materials and high-end supplies. The employees were nice and made sure to be available when we needed help.

riccardo liotta: Top artist's supply store

chris thomson: They have everything you need.

Chloe Anderson: Expensive but high quality selection. Does not carry some specialty items for painting like impasto, however. Good selection for architects -- vellum, compasses, metal rulers with corkboard.

tim polley: Great resource for Milwaukee artists and students.

Cori Jauregui: i love this blick! i am always greeted and there are always enough people to help me look for what i need. i swear they have EVERYTHING! for being a smaller store, i was shocked at the variety and inventory.

The Borg Cooking Show: Great place to get really solid mechanical pencils lift draftmatic and pentel. They also have sakura micron archival ink pens

Denise Schmitt: Our last art store. Excellent variety and staff. Parking s a challenge so I usually order online.
