Pigeon Bird: Authentic Mexican food and delicious vegan options. I am a huge fan of their squash blossoms, in particular on a sope. Flavorful and reasonably priced. Kind people—the first time I was there, they gave us samples of the nopales and the hibiscus drink so that we could see if we liked them first. They are very accommodating to vegan diets as well. 10/10, my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Milwaukee area.Vegetarian options: Ask them to make it vegan and they are happy to do so. Megan Ensign: I wanted corn tortillas, so my boyfriend searched up the best corn tortillas in the Milwaukee area and we landed on Chilango Express, and I am so glad we did. We both got the Chilango platter and it was crazy delicious, and yes - the tortillas were off the chain. We also got the flan for dessert and it was some of the best flan I’ve ever had. Margaritas were gigantic and delicious. Service was warm and outstanding. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much for the excellent experience!

Can you tell by the ratings?They are family run and operated and some of the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico.They make their own tortillas and that makes all the difference in the world for me. Plus we eat vegetarian selections more then meat and they offer some really great veggie options.And if you like Mole sauce you definitely need to try theirs. So much flavor, it's amazing.They also cater and we had a party with their food and our guest were blown away.

If you want something different then order the consomme de borrego, the lamb soup, which has chickpeas, cilantro and carrots in it. I will come away from this place dreaming about their corn tortillas which are fluffy and soft, yet grilled. Clearly home made. The dining room is sunny and colorful-- the prices, friendly.

Alisa Burdick: The restaurant is very clean and inviting. I ordered 2 steak tacos. I received those, but also started with authentic chips and Chile Releño sauce. Excellent sauce by the way! My tacos came to my table with a grilled baby onion, a grilled jalapeño, 2 baby potatoes for what wound up being heat neutrality. I put the Chile sauce on my tacos and it was magical. I also received a can of Coke. All of that food for $8.The hospitality was superb as well! The waitress was very kind and the owner came to my table and asked if I enjoyed my food... Which I did.If you get the opportunity, stop in for authentic food and hospitality for a reasonable price.You'll be glad you did.
