Original Sobelmans on St. Paul: what do users think?

mlacour20: and after, I told my girlfriend about sobelmans and had to show her and my word did I miss this place. Came here for the bacon wrapped jalapeno cheese babies but goooooodness it was the wings that blew us away. We got the garlic parm and that was unbelievably sexy. The meat fell straight off the bone seconds after your lips make contact. Will make another trip up there for sure just for the noms.

Joey Runey: Fantastic as always. Cheese curds were some of best. Waiter was on his game. Super attentive. The chicken beast bloody was the bomb.Recommended dishes Pickle Fries, Fried Cheese, The Beast …

Cheyito: Go strictly for the atmosphere, lots to see and experience. Fun from the start as you have to locate the entrance. The entrance is now manned, as before you had to figure how to get in. Camera there and people watching you inside fumble around. This WAS fun. The person now will ask you for the password so get it unless you want to prove you are not a double agent by doing a task. If ever possible get the booth that revolves so you can make a quick getaway if there ever is any KGB danger. The food is unique but you can't be a picky eater. The flavor of the burgers is okay, the brisket was mid level. The price and portions of food are disproportionate. The servers are friendly but seemed rushed and rushed to get you out.

Daniel Kelley: Service: 5/5

David Sapp: The best vibe, amazing staff and the drinks just make it perfect!

Emily Anderson: I've been a few times at various levels. On this evening we grabbed a drink after a comedy show. This is a classic MKE bar with great service, creative and well-crafted drinks, fun decor and even better patrons. It's worth a stop...even if you just want to look at well-groomed men working behind the bar... You'll have a great time. You will find a conversation. The atmosphere is inviting and I intentionally ordered a fussy drink to confirm they care about their output... they do. They consistently do. And I love that about this place.Fall 2023: consistently great. Chris is dope.

Jeremy Miller: Classic go-to tiki bar in Milwaukee. Great for the first stop of the night or after dinner.Drinks: Great cocktails all around. I always lean towards the tequila drinks. Some of the cocktails you’ve got to watch out for since they’ll be real sugary.Atmosphere: look at it. Moody and pirate-like. It sets the scene for a good time. Although it is really loud and you’ll prolly have a hard time hearing company.Service: super quick. Order at the bar.

Nicole Hines: !

Jenna Wade: Fun and kitschy with fantastic tiki drinks - what more could you want?!?

Lindsey Peterson: I've been here with my boyfriend a couple times now. We love it! We have stopped by this bar with some friends that live close. The food was good the one time we actually ate there. And we all like to get the Underdog digestif. There is another one sold at the bar, a bit cheaper, and if you buy 4 you get the 5th one free. The bar is loud, but that is expected. It's super fun if a band is playing as well. Such a fun bar. They also have Hammerschlagenthat you can play at the back if you buy nails at the bar. Funnnnn!

Jenna Wade: . It’s street parking, which can be a pain depending on the time of day and what else is going on in the Deer District but I’ve always been able to find something.

Kelli Butenhof: Fun place for some cocktails. Cheers!

K: Really good drinks!! Fun atmosphere.

Anthony Jones: This bar at North Ave Market knows what they are doing. If you are fortunate enough to get Anthony as a bartender, you will surely leave happy. He is literally an encyclopedia of cocktails….what goes together, what flavors work well, what specific alcohols should be shaken at room temp versus on ice. My husband and I appreciate all of the above and more. His brief lessons based on my questions were like being in a drink making class. Overall, the drinks are phenomenal and the staff, including owners, go above and beyond to make you feel like a friend and not just a patron. Please visit! They are THEE best!

Xo Xo: 👍 They definitely make sure you have lots of fun time when you come here!! 😋They make some delicious drinks too!!🍷 🍶 🥃 🍸 🍺 🍹 🍵 🥤 🍾

Madyun Wilson: I would like to personally thank Brandon he has been a great and professional representative of the Bittercube organization. He made me the most amazing dirty martini I’ve ever seen. I’m privileged that you moved into the north side of Milwaukee, such a cultured industrial atmospheric space. Highly suggest the Heirlooms Crème de Flores. Hours get a little weird but call and they answer if they are open you’ll be welcomed!Updated: Friday July 2 2021 Still A No. 1 Fan ! Picture from today!

A.J. Magoon: Really great selection and good service! Ordered some bitters for curbside pickup and everything was very smooth and easy.

Courtney Ignatowski: Bittercube has such fun and innovative virtual cocktails classes. Each cocktail has it own unique spin on it. You can pick up all the ingredients at their location before class. Brandon & Ira make it an experience- definitely get the Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters!

Jennifer Roberts: An amazing time learning how to make the best Manhattans! A great find!! Great people & products!

Joyce Gardiner: Our bartender William was awesome...suggested drinks...served them with a smile...mixed cocktails to our liking! He also suggested items for us to purchase from the Bazaar! It was a great experience!

Jen Vega: The most amazing cocktails in Milwaukee. Great place in a place I wouldn't have expected. Goes to show you that MKE is truly up & coming.

Buckley's Restaurant & Bar: what do users think?

Brandon Newman: Absolutely fantastic! After a long day of traveling and an afternoon walking all around Milwaukee, I came to Buckley’s with my parents for dinner. This converted home has been turned into a fancy-casual restaurant with an exquisite atmosphere. I tried the Broccoli starter, which came with a nice miso tahini sauce that provided a unique flavor. The Buckley Burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The meat itself was so high quality and full of flavor, and the crisp brioche bun and toppings and condiments complimented the burger perfectly. I also had the Lobster pasta and it lives up to how delicious a lobster dish has to be. Absolute class when it came to combining the lemon and tomato flavors with the lobster in a light pasta dish. My Dad also says the salmon dish he had was really good. For dessert, it was hard to choose which of Mrs. Buckley’s items to get. We got the famous carrot cake and the seasonal St. Patrick’s cheesecake. All I know is that Mrs. Buckley doesn’t miss! Both desserts were so delicious and the high quality showed once again. The service was great, too. We were never rushed even with the restaurant being packed. The waitress was very nice, answered questions, and told us a little bit about the Buckley family. On top of everything mentioned, the pricing was very good and the portions were large. Overall, this is a restaurant I trust after my first visit. You can’t go wrong with Buckley’s. 5 STARS!!!!!

Robert Whitehurst: A beautiful restaurant with excellent food. I had to sit at the bar because I did not have reservations. To be fair it was Valentine's weekend.I took an out of town guest for dinner and his initial impression was that it was very "fancy". However, after dinner he confessed that it was one of the best meals he had every eaten. He travels for business and eats in many restaurants. He proclaimed that it is certainly a hidden gem in Milwaukee and would definitely return when he is in town.

Steven: Fried artichokes, cheesecake, and carrot cake were particularly amazing! Great service & ambiance too.Prices very reasonable for this high quality of food.

R Elle: , wine and divine desserts - everything was perfect. Carlie and Taylor “had me at hello” because they were both good listeners trying to understand my goals and needs. Buckley’s is higher end and worth it! Call ahead to get a sense of parking. Just amazing & thank you!

Katie B: in the cooking and baking. I had Mahi Mahi on a bed of pasta and pesto. Delicious. Appetizer special was bread served with a delicious cheese and a cheese spread. Just O.K. All four of us enjoyed our meals. Each dish had multiple tastes that came together beautifully. We will be back. Recommend calling to get direction on parking. We heard

Melissa Mondragon: The building is beautiful! The food was perfection. From the truffle fried artichokes to the seafood risotto and the salmon to the tuxedo cheesecake. The sangria had the most delicious combination of spices. This place is for foodies! You will not be disappointed. Ask for Joe to be your waiter. He's exceptional! 10/10 would recommend this wonderful establishment to everyone!

The Borg Cooking Show: Chloe is this best bartender in town. If you want the top drawer, front runner, belle of the ball brandy old fashion, you gotta ask Chloe to whip you up one

Rodney Olsen: Really nice staff and a good happy hour.

Alex PR: Good ✌️

Ashley W: Came in from Chicago for a quick bite with my mother and 3 of my girlfriends the day before St Patricks Day. We had tickets to a show at the theater down the street and one hour to enjoy a hot meal in the late afternoon. Considering it was a holiday weekend, we expected it to be busy just about anywhere. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table which wasn't a problem. When we were seated, we were seated at a small table near the pool table and other arcade game. The manager pushed our table as far back as he could so we wouldn't be in the way of the group of gentleman playing pool. We were sitting there for five minutes before an extremely intoxicated guy started screaming at us demanding us to move because he wanted to play skiball. We explained to him we were seated here by the manager who already moved the table as far back as he could. He continued to scream at us until I got up and decided to find the manager that seated us explaining what was currently happening. He seemed genuinely upset and opened up a separate isolated area for us to sit alone at our table apologizing profusely for how we were treated our first time visiting their establishment. He offered to comp half our meal for the trouble and assigned one of the kindest servers to take care of us. I wish I remembered her name because she deserves the recognition. My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to spend here because the food was absolutely delicious. You can tell they truly care about their customers and did not want to leave a bad impression on some visitors. I'm not angry at the establishment for how we were treated by one patron because these things can and will happen in a bar. I am applauding them for how quickly the management was to respond and rectify this issue to make sure the rest of our visit was an enjoyable experience 👍

Jauntéa Maxey: ! The potatoes and carrots were great. All items were clearly made separately, well thank goodness, because those caraway seeds ruined the cabbage. We will be looking elsewhere for the Corned Beef Irish Dinner. The cheese curds on the other hand are the best I’ve had but I’m no true Wisconsinite. Pretzel was excellent the first night and was hard in some places the second night we went, so hit or miss. I know it’s an Irish spot but wish they had the German mustard for the pretzel. The 4 cheese sauce and honey mustard were pleasant surprises. The cookie was good, could have baked a bit more but it is about personal preference.

Matthew Lyon: This is the best bar in Milwaukee, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They have a rotating tap and craft cocktail list so there are always plenty of options, but you never feel out of place drinking a High Life either. Perfect combo! Staff is incredibly friendly, quick, and knowledgeable, even when the place gets busy. Can't recommend enough.

Dana Stalewski: My partner and my own favorite bar in Milwaukee. We felt welcome during on our first endeavor, and have been returning on every visit. Love the low key vibe, wonderful staff, and being able to connect with one other without distraction. 2 single bathrooms, so, if you have to pee, don’t hesitate to jump in line. I have a tiny tank. There’s tavern pizza, and it smelled good, but I already ate dinner and wasn’t to the point of second dinner!!

The Borg Cooking Show: The ride the rail challenge is quite fun. They have a decent pool table, and outside patio for smoking, a dart board, trivia on mondays, and friendly bartenders.Parking: There is a paid parking garage directly next door and free street parking around the block usually.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get in so it is wheelchair accessible.

Connor OMalley: One of the pubs of all time.

Alyssa Hougham: My friends and I wandered in during our visit to town and are so glad we did! The vibe was super chill and the bartender was so friendly and helpful. We had to stop in again a few days later at the end of our trip and he remembered us. We didn't catch his name, but shout out to the one from North Dakota for being awesome!

Bethany Blount: Quick Update: It's still delicious! I had more restraint than below, but I also came hungrier. They have several delightful crêpe options this season. I wish I could afford to try them all!Absolutely delish! We went for a little brunch and ended up splurging on a three course meal. I made the joke when ordering dessert that I would have to be wheeled out of the restaurant. It was all so good though that my willpower abandoned me. I would highly recommend!

Dave Dunn: Last two times I have gone here I have had bad food. Fried chicken livers way over done, and beef shank was dry and tough, variable were under cooked to he point of being raw. And last time I went somehow my bill came out to $168. I had drinks and bought cocktails mix to go, but just seemed like too much after I thought about it. Not sure if I trust restaurant manger, seemed to be playing around with the bill.

Bel: I had a delicious cup of coffee and ordered the following: Mushroom and spinach waffle. Bread pudding waffle with mushroom duxelle, broccolini, salad, feta, truffle oil, poached eggs and smoked shallot marmalade. Looks great....however, my waffle was burned and BLACK on the bottom. Also one egg was hard in the center, not poached. Not inedible, but it could have been an amazing dish if they hadn't plated the burned waffle. The accompanying salad had a very good dressing....love breakfast with some salad on the plate. Great atmosphere and service. I'll be back.

John Levine: Bartender is very nice and professional. Will go again!

Benjamin McNeil: around and looking at the details. We ordered small plates as appetizers, and they were fantastic and arrived quickly. The large plates took a fair bit longer to arrive, but all of us cleaned our plates. Seriously, my tiny sister actually scraped her plate clean with her fork and knife. Overall, this was a very nice experience. Prices for food were pretty high, though cocktail prices were a good deal.Vegetarian options: Butternut squash small plate was insanely delicious

Alex G: Great cocktails and good bartenders

Maia H: This is a small cocktail bar, so don't be surprised if you don't get a seat on the weekends, especially during happy hour! Happy hour is 4-6pm and it's half off their specialty house cocktails or draft beer. Our group liked the Wisconsin old fashioned and the negroni spritz the best. The bartender did a good job by herself when it was extremely busy. My only complaint is the music was too loud, we could barely hear each other talk.
