Italian Community Center: what do users think?

paul neymeyr: Elegant eating.

Stephenie Ruffin: I was there for the Black Excellence Awards ceremony. The center is very spacious, the servers were polite and attentive, and the bathroom was very clean. The food was just okay. We had chicken with mixed vegetables and potatoes. The dessert was pound cake, and it was set on the table with the salad. By the time we finished dinner and was ready to eat dessert, the pound cake was starting to get hard. It was less than desirable. During the reception, there was plenty of coffee, but the creamer containers were empty fairly quickly. Needless to say, I didn't get coffee. They had 2 bars in the reception area, so if you didn't get a drink before you head into the dining area, water was at the table. Lastly, there was plenty of parking.

Rachel S: Went to a convention for work here. Food was great! Well organized event.

Erin McKeever-Haglund: Beautiful facility and very friendly staff.

Mildred Starks: Great venue! Wonderful atmosphere! Delicious food!

VictoryK8 and Milwaukee Italian Immersion School: what do users think?

Valerie L: This is a great school with Great Teachers.. The staff genuinely care about the students. The Italian Program is growing every year.... An amazing opportunity for any child.

Daniel Evangelista: I go to victory school and friends are very easy to make and most teachers are nice.

Jamie Mangert: My boys attended and loved their old school Clement Ave in the Bayview area. My eldest started Clement Avenue when he was just in kindergarten and made it all the way till 7th grade and my youngest son started also in K4, and he made it till the 3rd grade . But due to transportation issues we had to switch schools. That is when they got enrolled into Victory. It was the first time both of them had to take a school bus to and from school, and we were very nervous of the new adjustments that had to be made at home and at school as any child and parent would be. To all the parents out there who had to make this transition, trust me, i know how our imaginations may go wrong when transitioning from driving their children to and from school to not being able to have that sense of control. But to all of our surprise their first day went perfect and I do not use that word regularly. Also I am NOT one of those who is trying to kiss the schools butt, as to say, but victory is a great school for all children and I do recommend it for your next school choice they not only have football soccer baseball they also teach many other languages and have smaller classrooms to fit your child's individual concerns and needs. Just give them a try is what I would recommend to any parent wondering whether or not to send their child there. Seeing is believing. And my youngest is now on the honor roll and my oldest is playing football in his grades have improved dramatically he is just about to be on the honor roll. I am a proud parent & I speak it loud and clear .

Anne Siegel: Osher rocks! In preparation for teaching a Zoom class to elementary school children in French, I contacted one of the Osher members and received some specialized tools for moving forward with my project. Her 'tips' helped me lead the virtual class with a minimal amount of missteps. I gained a lot of confidence after working individually with Laurie, as well as attending her regular Zoom tutorials for all Osher members. Love the variety of programs, too!

Gwen Benner: Osher at UWM has provided a plethora of stimulating programs for lifelong learners in a community of fellow students who have become colleagues and good friends.

Priscilla Camilli: I have enjoyed many Osher courses. I especially have gained insightsfrom Paula Friedman''s book discussions and Kathy Johnson's film analyses and other courses. I have also been happy to teach classes on art history.Osher makes retirement fulfilling!

Sue Burwell: There is such a wonderful variety of courses offered, and a great way to spend time learning, especially when we can't be together in -person.

Marvin Wiener: The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UWM is an adult learning extension of UW Milwaukee that has brought learning experiences to many intellectually curious senior citizens in the greater Milwaukee area. It differentiates itself from other adult learning activities by the breadth of topics, the active participation in the organization by over 100 volunteers, the caliber of the presenters, and the continued pursuit of excellence through surveys of members and evaluation of the classes offered. The high caliber of the organization is reflected in its rapid adoption of virtual teaching made necessary by the COVID pandemic. The Institute didn't miss a beat in moving to a virtual platform. It has the technical expertise and member dedication to pull that off almost seamlessly. I'm proud to be a member of an organization that recognize me as an individual and values my input and membership.

Chris Schlosser: The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a great way to continue to learn new and interesting things - as well as meet other people. They have done a great job of shifting to all online classes during the pandemic. These classes have been a great way to stay in touch and learn while safer at home.

Cindy Harvey: OSHER Classes have kept me sane during the pandemic!Always something to look forward to. Thank you!

Julie I: For me, one of the best parts of retiring was finally getting to start attending classes with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UWM, otherwise known to the members of our chapter as Osher. I've enjoyed getting together with others for lectures and classes about literature, history, science, and more. Even now, when our meetings are via Zoom, the learning and sharing continues. But I'll admit, I'm looking forward to the day that we can meet, travel, eat, and learn together in person again.

Geri Halaska: Osher has been a life saver for me. I've enjoyed the many classes that I signed up for and have met many interesting people and made more friends. Can't wait for things to return to "normal".

Kathy O: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UWM is OUSTANDING! It offers classes on History, Literature, Art, and even current events. Zoom classes have been offered since the Pandemic arrived along with many other class options. Osher even offers tech classes to learn how to Zoom with a Tech Support Team to offer personalized assistance. You won't regret your decision to become a member!

Tim Peterson: I have learned so much from this place, nothing else like it in SE Wisconsin!!!

Luther Willems: Great facility and staff to help working adults improve their skills! I've enjoyed the classes I have taken here.

IL MITO Trattoria e Enoteca: what do users think?

Jeri Wenzel: Dinner was amazing. Started with yummy bread w/olive oil & garlic, calamari as an appetizer, we split a salad which consisted of grilled veggies with a balsamic glaze on them. Very tasty. He had his lamb shank which was very tasty and I had one of their specials which was penne pasta with a light creamy tomato sauce and shrimp, scallops and chicken. Very good. We shared a cream brûlée and 2 cappuccinos. Everything was excellent. Of course we spent more than our gift card but it was so worth it. Weekly they have $33 deals and quite a bit to pick from. Always very fresh and yummy.

Daniel Delgado: . For salads we ordered the mixta salad but with the Ceasar dressing. Lastly, the bread that comes out complimentary with the garlic paste is great. Keep ordering it!

Tony Scalzo: Amazing Italian restaurant! Great service, excellent Italian food. Olive oil with roasted garlic brought to the table with warm bread. Ordered Bruschetta, Carpaccio for appetizers, words can not explain how good it was. Ordered the bolognese and lasagna for the main course, mouth watering you will not be disappointed! A must get is the pear puff pastry served with homemade whipped cream with a half of a fresh strawberry. You’ll want to be nice and share this but trust me you’ll be fighting for the last bite, order one for yourself instead.

Kristy Zahn: Nice dining experience. I have Celiac and need to eat gluten free food. I have eaten at Zesti, a sister restaurant, before and know this group understands cross contamination. The gluten free pizza was not a flatbread but a thin crust pizza- good crust. There was a ton of cheese on every slice and in my opinion not enough of the great sauce. Two cocktails, an upcharge for gluten free bread and oil, a gluten free pizza, and a dessert came in around $70. Not a bad night but nothing that blew us away for the 5 stars.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options, they also cater to other allergies if you are up front.

Heather Rathjen: I have come a few times. Always have had good service and great food. My most recent visit we did the cooking class. Which was a blast! Highly recommend if you can get a group!Parking can be a little obnoxious but usually a side street will have space!

Bradford b: Very enjoyable meal. Excellent service. 5 stars. We will be back. Chicken Parmesan. Spaghetti Bolognese. Seafood specials. And dessert! Excellent.Parking: On street.

Mr. B: Catered our wedding and the food was delicious! Many friends and family came up complimenting the food! The appetizers were perfect; was great having server's walking around with them. The best was the beef short ribs; just melted when you ate it! Everything again was delicious! Chef Michael Feker made us feel like family! He goes above and beyond what's expected making everything feel perfect! My new wife and I will being making IL MITO Trattoria a usual night out for dinner! 100% recommend the catering service you won't be disappointed!

Bradford Sledge: A thoroughly enjoyable meal before a concert downtown. You have to be comfortable with your chair touching a strangers chair, because the tables are packed in, and all the voices make for a lively, loud atmosphere. Personally I liked it. We started with a caprese salad which was very good. They served good, slightly warmed bread and butter, it comes with the meal but we requested it before the meal and they accommodated us. I had the gnocchi and meatballs which was delicious, my wife had the margarita pizza which was also tasty. Nothing was so good I would purposely travel there for, but a very solid choice if you’re in town at dinner time.

Sylver Slusar: You must, Must, MUST order the garlic bread! You will think you have died & gone to heaven!! Words fall short on just how good this bread is! Next time, I think I'll forgo the pasta and just indulge in the garlic bread, an appetizer, and a glass of wine! Munga! Munga! Ciao!!

GinaG1234: This is a very quaint pizza spot. It’s quiet and cozy. The wait staff was very friendly and kind. Very sweet ladies!!! We had the pizza with cheese, sausage and pepperoni. I think I was expecting a more robust pizza, but it was cool. We also had a salad which only consisted of iceberg lettuce and a few grape tomatoes. We also ordered the lasagna. I absolutely loved the butter bread. It was incredibly crunchy with no garlic salt or spread which was a plus for me. Please get the lemonade! Very refreshing!!! Overall, we enjoyed our visit! If you want a quiet pizza place to just chill, this is the spot for you!

Santino's Little Italy: what do users think?

John Reddersen: Everything was really good, except the arancini, which was just OK. The rice was overcooked to the point that it tasted pretty much like fried breaded cheese. All the pizzas, including the gluten free one were delicious. The gluten free pasta carbonara a friend got was amazing. I would never have guessed it was gluten free. They also have a great Amaro selection for after dinner and the espresso was also very good.Dietary restrictions: The gluten free carbonara, garlic pizza, and chocolate cake were delicious and this is from someone who doesn't need to eat gluten free trying them from a friend who does.

Ross: was even behind the bar taking a personal interest in his business which I loved. Overall excellent experience, will be definitely coming back.

Karla Martinez: Everything was super good , but the tiramisu was amazingRecommended dishes Calamari Fritti, Gigante Meatball Plate, Bianco Pizza …

Tony Hilbert: amazing. Just the leftover crust from the pizza is better than the entire pizza at most places. Santo and Greg

Dee O'Neill: The pizza was delicious. Crust had a great chew & crunch from the wood fire oven. Thin crust. Toppings were - just enough. The calamari was good, and the bruscetta was scrumptious.I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff, over the top!The atmosphere is cozy. Take your loved one or a first date. You'll be going back. It'll be a favorite, trust me.Be certain to make reservations. There are 2 small steps to get into the restaurant. I did not see another way in for wheelchairs. There is street parking.

Dale Baker: Ate here tonight for the first time with my son and daughter and it was an amazing experience from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted immediately by a hostess, and as we were being seated one of the two owners walked over to greet us and shook our hands as well. Our server, Tom, was amazing. Very engaging, explained the specials in detail down to the ingredients used to make each plate and answered our questions about other dishes and made recommendations to us. He was beyond friendly, worked very efficiently around us and visited our table at least 5 times during our dinner experience. The food….5 Stars on each item we ordered and we shared two desserts that were equally amazing as the food. On our way out the second owner was at the front, thanked us for coming in, asked us about our service and the food and was super friendly as we discussed their background and when they first opened up the restaurant.I will certainly be back and I will bring and recommend this place to all my family and friends.Thank you Santinos Little Italy for a wonderful experience.

Steve Kolb: Great food and service! I had the mushroom ravioli. I will be returning sometime.

Kat Stewart: Non traditional store front that transports you to Italy with every dish they serve. A real gem amongst the dining scene of the area with fabulous courses start to finish. The pasta is cooked to a precision that only experience and masterful repetition can bring. If you want to be taken back to a dinner at nonnas house under soft candle light make a reservation here and enjoy a glass of wine with those you cherish.

Thomas Bakko: The food and atmosphere here were great. I ordered the Lasagna for my primi and the Marsala for my secondi. Both were delicious and were literally steaming when they came out. Not sure they know what primi and secondi mean though, both dishes came at the same time and were full sized entrees. I probably should have realized that but oh well, got to try two dishes and the price was not outlandish. The staff were very friendly and attentive, but not too in your face. Exactly how I believe service should be. I would eat here again anytime

Zarletti: what do users think?

Edward Kutz: was terrific all evening, with great timing. All 10 of us we delighted with our meals. Thank you so much for a great evening!

Steve DiGregorio: First time here from out of town, i sat at the bar for dinner as I was dining alone. The bar tender was very friendly, attentive and had some good suggestions on the menu. I ended up starting with the mussels which were excellent, the sauce was great to dip the warm bread in. The Carbonara was good as well, I thought the portion size was good, in house made pasta, cooked slightly al denté which is exactly how it should be. Very nice. The wine selection is good, with plenty of great Italian wines to choose from, and even wines by the glass had a nice selection. It was a pleasant experience. I will be back.

Mern: Zarletti’s is always food prepared well. Two criticisms exist each time I visit. First is that presented with specials of the day prices should be included or expressed by the server. A diner shouldn’t have to ask. It’s uncomfortable for all concerned and unnecessary. The second relates to GF. Having a GF option available for pasta is very nice. But a $4 addition to the price for something that is not preferential but necessary is a slap in the face even if they do make their own. It says “we don’t really want to do it, but if you insist we will.” As GF pasta is never worth the calories, the added cost makes this menu option easy to pass up.Unfortunately then secondo options as backup are minimal. Having eaten my way around Italy I am aware that flour is not necessary to this portion of an Italian meal. And yet it is at Zarletti’s. Having to eat GF, and having eaten here four times, I have tried all that is possible with two of those choices being specials. Eating the special of the day can possibly be GF but with prices not listed, there’s a 50/50 chance of being costly and prohibitive so the check can be a surprise if you don’t ask the uncomfortable and obvious question. What is bothersome though is that many of the secondo options could easily be GF as would exist in Italy but there is no desire to make it so. So what remains is a sense that GF is not welcome. When all is considered, Zarletti’s is great food. If you’re GF and plan to eat here often your dining options are limited and possibly more costly.Atmosphere rec’d 3 stars because the music is too loud for the small space and the selection doesn’t add to ambiance but is rather an annoyance.

The servers are always very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is absolutely amazing. You can definitely taste the freshness and the quality of the ingredients, the kitchen staff must definitely be passionate about what they create. We recently went for an anniversary dinner, and it was just as amazing as always. Highly recommend if you’re in Milwaukee!

Koda G: My girlfriend and I were in town all the way from Chicago. We were staying at the Hyatt and when we asked the gift shop worker if there were any restaurants nearby that she would recommend, she mentioned this place. It was about a 10 minute walk there. The food was amazing. I wish we had something like this back home. The staff was also really nice and friendly! My girlfriend thought the older man working there was the sweetest in particular. The best part about it though had to be the gelato. If we’re ever back in town we’re definitely stopping by here again! Highly recommend.

Kate Weinstein: What a hidden gem!! Absolutely delish pasta made with love right in front of you. The river view is an added bonus. I will be back!

Jon Bugner: Right on the river. The food and service were awesome! Fresh and fast.Recommended dishes Chicken Alfredo …

N Young: Owners are polite and very sweet. Food is outstanding! Kitchen is large and immaculately clean and the prices are great. Definitely check out Tua if you’re in the area!

Meenal Kaushal: Hidden gem in Milwaukee.

Jeff Dittman: Hidden gem, great food, friendly service. Can’t wait to come back in summer and eat on patio. Garlic bread was amazing. Tastes just like a fancy $30 pasta dish at nice sit down restaurant. Big space plenty of room and food comes out quickly. Will be back!

Anna R: This place is so underrated! I have stopped in on numerous occasions for lunch during the weekday, and it is pretty empty. It may be because it’s kinda hidden in the basement of the building and off the riverwalk, not an easy to locate place. It is a build your own pasta and salad place with tons of options for toppings! Everything is fresh and it’s great to be able to customize your meal! You chose pasta or salad and size you would like. Dining in, you get a great view of the river, whether a sunny, summer day, or a brisk, cold day. No matter what you get an offering of extra sprinkle of Parmesan and fresh parsley, and a piece of garlic bread on the side! In the summer/warmer months they offer fresh gelato for your after meal treat. You can also enjoy your meal with alcohol and non alcoholic options.Always a great experience stopping in!

Karley Lemke: We were visiting Milwaukee today and were looking for a place for lunch. We found Tua Pasta and it was amazing. The service was great and we will visit again when in Milwaukee! It held its heat the sauce was amazing and the bread that came with it was some of the best I’ve had with pasta.

Krista Guckenberger: my sicilian husband can attest to it! My only suggestion - cook the eggplant appetizer longer :

Timothy Rose: . The sauce was outstanding. The crust was near perfect as well. The cheese was not top shelf, but still tasty. We had the melanzane fritte as an appetizer. Again, the sauce was unbelievable

Warren Legner: Was blown away by this place. It looks like something you'd pass 9 out of 10 times, but that 1 time you go in will be so worth it. The food was absolutely amazing - carbonara was crazy flavorful but not overly heavy, bolognese was phenomenal, mussels had an unbelievable broth and the canolis were perfect and not overly sweet. And our server Isabela was one of the best we've ever had. Amazing place that I'd recommend to anyone.

D Castle: , and was the only table, but heard nonstop reservations being taken for 5pm onward. Service was quick and pleasant. There was a decent wine list, with wine both by the glass or by the bottle. They have an amazing wood fire oven, which you can see easily just walking in the door. Gluten free pizza crust is available sporadically

Caleb Kopczyk: Absolutely fantastic food! I haven't had pasta this good since my last trip to Italy! Fantastic cannoli too! Service was excellent! Great wine list! Really excited to go back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free pasta options

John Tussler: Found on recommendation from my sister easy parking atmosphere was good tables were a little close, but I’m OK with that. Service was excellent nice young lady. Food was most excellent. Would recommend this place and would like to go back for the jazz bar next-door met the owner on the way out told him about our experience. He was much appreciative great place.

Just Me: Recommended dishes Cacio E Pepe with Scallops, Vodka Gnocchi

Mark P. Behar: scampi in wine & olive oil was light and flavorful with asparagus tips, garlic and other spices. Braised short beef colognes with rich Rosemary tomatoes cream and mushrooms with home made fettuccine. Both were memorable!!Finally for dessert

Frank Miller: Food is exceptional but would like to see larger main ontrays. Had gnocchi with vodka sauce and bolgnese. Service was attentive and on point. Please don't send me home hungry.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: 1st floor.

Alex Johnson: Food was really good, but did not exceed expectations overall. The artichoke dip was the best item we got!Bolognese was heavy on the mushrooms for our taste, and the Giardiniera was flavorful, but I would go with something else next time around.

V T: Was one of my favorite restaurants! Every visit is pleasant. My most recent one was fairly good. However their prices seemed a lot higher since the last time I’ve been here. I ordered the cacio e Pepe. It was just okay. 3 scallops and a small portion of pasta that was quite dry. My favorite part of the dish was the sautéed mushrooms. Sadly not $37 worth. However my boyfriend got the Short rib rissoto and that was excellent! Overall, food is good but pricey for what it is.

There is seating on this floor.

Jesus Hernandez: There are many places that sell pizzas but I really liked this place because of the baked flavor and the original flavor.Parking: It is located at the back of the restaurant and there is an alley that leads out in front of the main entrance.

Janine Hering: Never been and I don't know why. This is now one of our top three favorite pizza spots. Thin crust with crispy edges, just the right amount of sauce and they don't skimp on the cheese or the toppings. The cheese bread was also very good. Jaki was great - attentive and very friendly. Absolutely recommend!Dietary restrictions: For those with Celiac disease or who choose to eat gluten free, they have gf garlic bread, cauliflower crust and flourless chocolate cake.Parking: Parking lot behind the building and plenty of street parking.
