My wife says "it felt like a fairytale", with endless compliments from our wedding guests, we know this to be true.All of St. James 1868's suggested vendors also beat our expectations.Danielle our coordinator, made what could have been a strenuous process, a breeze. distinct person: Went to A Taylor Swift Tribute Concert. It was fantastic. I really don't know Taylor Swift songs that well but my date loves them. And to have them performed by a quartet in a candlelit setting was really original and special. Plus they had a "Travis Swift" specialty drink that was original and delicious. And idk if it happens all the time, but for the last 2 songs they let us sing along and take pics.The quartet was excellent. I loved their intros to the songs and the arrangements were great. I would have loved to talk to them afterwards and take some pics. But they disappeared right away. Waited around but they never came back.

Kristen Arveson: the most elegant and glamorous greenery/draping for the huge outdoor gazebo at Pere Marquette Park for our ceremony. It was truly the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The inside of our venue was so dreamy as well with the additional greenery added to the stairwells and railings. They also communicated and coordinated extremely well with the other vendors which meant we were able to truly enjoy our wedding day without having to make any last minute decisions. This team was phenomenal and we couldn’t have been happier with their designs!

Gabrielle Hanke: Our wedding planned by Ambrosia Events in July, 2021 was the stuff of fairytales. I don’t believe that anyone else could have brought our vision to life like Oscar did. Every idea or request that I had, Oscar was able to bring to fruition. He was so attentive to our details and was genuinely passionate about our wedding. The decor that Oscar put together took our breath away! We are forever grateful and so happy that we found him! Oscar is an absolute visionary.
Courtney Shanmugabaskaran: Wowww!!! Ambrosia did such a wonderful job with our wedding ceremonies and reception. We had two ceremonies. We did our florals through them, which they were able to repurpose between ceremonies. We also were able to rent everything we needed through Ambrosia too! We worked mostly with Oscar and Meriah - they are the dream team!! Communication was always fast and they made the breakdown of our invoice very easy to understand. They really transformed the space and the setup for everything was more beautiful than we could have even imagined.

We gave him our vision and what we were thinking, and he and his team pulled it together working with another event designer/decorations company. We especially loved our custom designed history displays and green walls. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Oscar also provided linens, chairs, table decorations and soft seating sections. Jessica Kuhrt: I had such an amazing experience with Oscar and his team at Ambrosia. They went above and beyond. The end result was so elegant and gorgeous for my wedding day. I used him for flower arrangements at my church ceremony and for most of my decorations at the reception. The flower arrangements were huge and exactly what I wanted! The way that his staff can decorate a wedding made my dreams come to life of everything I ever wanted for a wedding. The communication was also amazing! Very quick and detailed. Working together with Oscar and Amy at Tuscan hall was a breeze because he frequently come to Tuscan Hall where my wedding was.

Hannah Davis: We got married a few weeks ago and we are so incredibly happy with our decision to have our reception at The Grain Exchange. Maria and Christean were phenomenal to work with - from the initial consultation through the day of the event. Everything, from the gorgeous room to the fantastic food to the flow of events, was spectacular. I had many people comment that the food was the best they've had at a wedding. That's what you get with Bartolotta's! The day was above and beyond what we had hoped for and we can't recommend the team at The Grain Exchange highly enough.

Leah Toro: a call about 3 months prior to our wedding and again about a week prior to our wedding with some emails in between. Kristin is clearly and expert in this area as the calls were seamless and efficient with a lot of attention to detail. It was very easy working with her. For the rehearsal and day of our wedding, Kristin and Alisha were there. At the rehearsal, Kristin was not afraid to step up and correct our officiant who, although also great, had some of the details for the ceremony incorrect. Kristin made sure he had it right and got everyone on the same page. For our wedding day, Kristin and Alisha had everything set up exactly how we wanted and done on time
Arielle Smith: Kristin was SO easy to work with. I have no idea how she does it, but our wedding day was perfect! We hired Kristin as our day-of coordinator and she as well as her assistant Bailey helped direct the entire day leaving me stress free and rolled with the punches as we made last minute changes. She and Bailey absolutely knocked it out of the park! From start to finish of the day, I was under zero stress, knowing they had it handled. I highly recommend!

I found out, after the day was already over, that there were several complications that occurred, but Sarah took care of it all. The bridal party, my wife, and I did NOT have to deal with our vendors coming up to us to ask logistical questions in the middle of the wedding or reception, so we got to enjoy every bit of our day without worrying about other things. And this was only possible because prior to the wedding we had 2 in-person meetings and had a decently long email conversation where we worked out the details of exactly how we wanted the day to go. Alyssa Albertini: Hiring Kristin as our day-of wedding coordinator was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made! We were uncertain whether we truly needed a day of wedding coordinator, but after meeting with Kristin to discuss how she could help us it was a no-brainer! Kristin was very affordable and ensured our wedding day ran smoothly. She recommended numerous vendors and gave us several suggestions for how to ensure our day ran as easily as possible. In our two pre-wedding meetings, she brought up many questions and specifics that we hadn’t even considered. On the day of, she and her assistant handled all the details that I did not want falling to our wedding party or family. She was professional and coordinated with our other wedding vendors in the week leading up to the wedding so we didn’t have to. Kristin and her team were the last ones there on our wedding night cleaning up, and made sure we received all of our remaining wedding trinkets when we were ready to pick them up. If there were any issues on our wedding day, we were unaware of them as Kristin had them covered. We received many compliments on her professionalism from both our wedding party and family members who actually turned to her with questions on the big day. Wedding planning is stressful enough, and we are so happy we hired Kristin to help with the most important day of our lives!

The Borg Cooking Show: Saw Bomber and Red, Modern Joey, and Wire and Nail here. The venue is super neat inside of an old warehouse. The cranes and large industrial beams still adorn the place. The acoustics are pretty good as well. The bar is located right next to the dance floor so you never miss a second of the music.There's also a nice grassy patio section outside for getting a breath of fresh air or rippin' a dart.Drink prices are not ridiculous $6 for wells, $9 for midtier hard liquor. They have a great beer selection and limited wine.

Patrick Betcher (Betcher Photo): The Cooperage is one of the great Milwaukee venues that sits a bit off the beaten path and offers all kinds of opportunities to enjoy all that it has to offer. As an area wedding photographer, I love when the couples I work with choose the Cooperage as it's super photogenic on its own and within a very short walking distance to all kinds of unique locations. It can accommodate indoor as well as outdoor ceremony options, both of which are beautiful. It's right on the river and has carved out its own identity down in that area. The rooftop access provides an unobstructed view of the Hoan as well as the the Lake behind it. There's also a really nice apartment attached to the property which acts as a really convenient and unique prep space. If you're not getting married there, might as well stop by the compound to grab some tacos at Taco Moto or grab a cocktail and some beers at Boone & Crockett. I look forward to being back there many times, as the team who run the events also do a fantastic job of keeping things tight and have always been very collaborative in the mission of providing a great experience to clients.

Benjamin Greenwood: My boyfriend and I went here back in October and loved it so much we ended up coming back there every other day for coffee. We even took the tour and had a much more fun time than either of us expected. I've been coming to this place on and off for awhile for the never-disappointing coffee courtesy of Anodyne, and I would be quick to recommend this cafe to anyone staying in the Pabst district. Otherwise, there is a parking lot adjacent to the building.Not only that, I find it special when the chef comes out to show their gratitude and socialize with the guests. Chef David was gregarious and hung out with us as we meandered room to room. You can tell he takes great pride in what he’s created with his incredible team. The stories behind each artifact to why he chose what dishes to make, it kept me entertained for hours.

Jackie Bordak: Great event space. The first floor room layout can be challenging for DJ sound as some tables may have an overhang, making it challenging for speeches to be heard during weddings. Upstairs is nice with a balcony overlooking 70th Street with a small bar and social space available for cocktails. The bar on the first floor has a better back bar selection than the upstairs bar.The cream city brick walls make this venue feel like a true Historic Milwaukee space without the traffic of Downtown.

Carlos “Shalom” Morciglio: I am looking forward to returning with my children for a visit. Certainly some creative ideas for children and for families to enjoy. I really enjoyed taking the walk through the aquarium and spent some time speaking with the agents at the information stands regarding the various species of animals in the lake. Emily: , very limited view considering it was a "lake view" room, a very small bathroom, and thin walls where we could hear neighbors talking at night. We found the room hot but the thermostat would not let us lower the setting any further. There was one mirror in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, clean, and room service was outstanding and better than expected.One elevator was out of service for a day or two but was fixed before we left. Our guest card didn't let us out of the parking ramp. The help button didn't work, and when we called the front desk no one answered. We had to physically get out of the car and walk to the front desk to have them give new cards to exit the ramp. Luckily no one was waiting behind us in the ramp.Luggage racks were unavailable unless you pay/tip the concierge/bell hop service to bring the bags for you. They won't let you use one if you ask.The pool was clean. I wish it had more jets to filter the water. There was no hot tub. The pool towels were very nice.The fitness center had a good amount of weights and equipment but looked dirty like it needed to be vacuumed and wiped down. It was in the basement.Club access was nice and staff were very friendly. I loved the fresh cut fruit at breakfast. I wish pancakes or waffles had been included.Club daytime snacks included gummy bears, snack mix, chips, m+m's, Kind/Clif bars, pop, and other beverages. Too much junk for the kids. I think apples and oranges were also available.Club evening hors derves weren't that great and they looked inexpensive- chunks of stinky cheese with flatbread sesame crackers, wontons, baked pierogis, an honor bar and macrons every night.We witnessed a staff with long blond hair come into the Club room from the Blu bar, grab tips, and then return back to the Blu bar room.The Mason Street Grille was very expensive and not kid friendly. The service was slow and the food was not great.

Tony Kinnett: The hotel is very nicely kept, and one of the better in the Autograph Collection. The star of this stay is undoubtedly the service.The front desk staff and the cleaning/maintenance crew were friendly, thorough, and well beyond what I'd expect at a chain like this. Given the opportunity, I will be staying here whenever in Milwaukee in the future.
M Taylor: This is an independent hotel boutique that is part of the Marriott Bonvoy Program. I did receive an upgrade to a Presidents suite, but don't be confused because they have several of them. The decor of the room is nice but it is not new, it is starting to show some wear and tear. The climate control is not great as it is an older building with forced radiator heat that you cannot turn off. The AC could not cool the room as needed for us at night. Valet parking is $40, there is local self parking nearby for less than $20. There are several great restaurants nearby. I give 3 stars when I am satisfied with my experience but would not go out of my way to return. I would stay at a different property on my next trip.
Flip Flop Guy: Very nice rooms! Clean and modernized with a warm feeling to them. Staff was friendly and valet prompt! A few unique drawback’s experienced would be that the room temp was too warm and no matter the setting, would not lower. The television also didn’t display anything but movie channels and local channels. The casting didn’t work either. Finally, there was the sound of music bass well past midnight that could be heard. I am not sure if that was the very cool pufferfish tiki bar on the sixth floor or a place across the street. Made for a tough sleep. All in all though, a very nice hotel and one we would definitely visit again!

The building is so cute--everything is super clean, chic and inviting----but the staff is what really shines. The ladies at the front desk/reception were so helpful and kind to us we....but everyone who works here is amazing. We were just so impressed by the level of service and the straight-up kindness we were shown we will be back for a third stay! Excellent job Hotel Metro!

It’s kind of like a old-school back in the 1960s vibe with a modern twist but it’s crazy because everything is real good the vibe the food the drinks the room everything is really elegant and nice plus it’s downtown in the center of everything in MILWAUKEE I think they got another one in New York if I’m not mistaken, but you gotta check it out. This is definitely one of the top hotels in downtown MILWAUKEE, you get waited on hand and foot from the time you get out the car until the time you get to your room even after that, there’s always someone that’s there to help you throughout your whole stay you got like a personal maid or bails men
