T C.: Saz’s and Michelle were so great to work with! Michelle made our wedding magical and made it so enjoyable for us and all of our guests. The space is large and accommodating and the loft space is a nice get away if needed. The food was amazing as well and we got many compliments! Forever grateful for this team!

From the minute we planned with the staff to the minute we left the venue, we felt supported and taken care of. Michelle and the entire team have been amazing— Quick to respond, patient, kind, and so knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the venue itself is such a perfect canvas for anything you have in mind! We flipped the top part of the venue for a game room and photobooth and our guests loved it. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking into having your special event here!

Milan K: We went to South Second for a Tasting event as our daughter is getting married in Oct. The Venue is great, very open. Food stations were spaced throughout and we sat and sampled the different options. Food was very good, the consultants stopped at each table to answer questions. It really helped us narrow down our menu selection. It is a nice venue and well organized.

Each space, no matter which you may choose will elevate you experience compared to your average venue. My wife says "it felt like a fairytale", with endless compliments from our wedding guests, we know this to be true.All of St. James 1868's suggested vendors also beat our expectations.Danielle our coordinator, made what could have been a strenuous process, a breeze. distinct person: Went to A Taylor Swift Tribute Concert. It was fantastic. I really don't know Taylor Swift songs that well but my date loves them. And to have them performed by a quartet in a candlelit setting was really original and special. Plus they had a "Travis Swift" specialty drink that was original and delicious. And idk if it happens all the time, but for the last 2 songs they let us sing along and take pics.The quartet was excellent. I loved their intros to the songs and the arrangements were great. I would have loved to talk to them afterwards and take some pics. But they disappeared right away. Waited around but they never came back.

Andrew Ferguson: We absolutely loved having our event at The Box, and planning with Jamie Berger and Levine was such a treat! We originally had our wedding celebration planned for May of 2020, then due to covid moved to October 2020, then once again to October of 2021. They could not have been more accommodating for us moving our event 2x, during a time where their business I am sure was taking a hit due to the pandemic. Both Jamie’s were always incredibly responsive and accommodating to whatever we needed during the whole process.When it came the day of, they came in even a bit earlier than our contract time to make sure the band could setup on time. During the actual event, I don’t think it could have possibly gone smoother than it did. Our manager Katelynn had everything under control, the bartenders were great and our guests never had to wait for a drink, and when it came tear down time Katelynn had helped pack all of our decorations so we could continue to go and enjoy ourselves.Thanks again to both Jamie and Jaime for helping us have such an amazing day, and would 1000% recommend using The Box for any sort of event.
Cathy Fischer: We hosted our daughter's wedding ceremony at The Box this past weekend. Working with Jamie Berger was an absolute joy. She was so accommodating, had great insight for setup and was so helpful with decisions at Rehearsal and a major player on Wedding Day. Jamie has a warm personality mixed with humor that chased all my anxiety away. We had a wedding party of 16 in addition to the Bride and Groom and had seating for 170 at the Ceremony and the venue was plenty spacious. I would highly recommend The Box for an event and couldn't be more pleased with our experience.
Cindy Cooper: Can’t rave enough about having my daughter’s wedding at The Box last weekend! I worked with Jamie Berger so I knew I was in good hands. I can’t even imagine all the work that went into getting the space ready. All I know is that when we walked in I knew my daughter’s vision had come to life. Jamie nailed the ambience. The staff that night was excellent —- very quick to remove any dirty dishes or glasses. All seemed very friendly and dressed well. The bartenders were particularly fun. For me, it was a great experience from beginning to end. I highly recommend The Box!

The venue is beautiful with the Cream City Brick wall and massive square footage. I worked with Jaime Levine. She was very attentive to all of the details for my Grandma’s special day. I appreciated her and Autumn’s assistance. I highly recommend this venue… as you won’t be disappointed!
Sam Boyle: Where do I begin? First of all, Jaime and her staff were very friendly and willing to work with us with everything going on with the pandemic. They were gracious enough to let us postpone our party until the following year which allowed us to get our whole family to the party. Leading up to the party, they helped us with everything we could think of along the way. From planning to catering to working with the band that we hired. My wife and I couldn't be happier with how everything went, and everyone that attended said they loved the venue. Highly recommend!
Amarii Hall: The Box is an absolute gem in the city of Milwaukee. Not only is it in the heart of downtown, but it also is the perfect venue for your next event. I love the versatility this space has and there is so much room for creativity. Being in contact with the owners and coordinators of the space has truly been an eventful experience and I would highly recommend getting to know them. My event was pushed back one day because of the Bucks finals and they were more than understanding, they were flexible. If you're looking for a space to have your event with a perfect set up and a welcoming environment, this is the place for you. 10/10, would recommend.

Hannah Davis: We got married a few weeks ago and we are so incredibly happy with our decision to have our reception at The Grain Exchange. Maria and Christean were phenomenal to work with - from the initial consultation through the day of the event. Everything, from the gorgeous room to the fantastic food to the flow of events, was spectacular. I had many people comment that the food was the best they've had at a wedding. That's what you get with Bartolotta's! The day was above and beyond what we had hoped for and we can't recommend the team at The Grain Exchange highly enough.

Sarah: Honest review- We cannot express how perfect our day was at Birch. Our ceremony was outdoors in the courtyard,-it was so beautiful with the string lights, elegant chiavari chairs, and greenery. Perfect for something more intimate. The interior space is gorgeous on its own and doesn't need much added décor. You are welcomed into the space with a rustic bar, cream city brick, and modern lighting. We were originally discouraged about the McDonald's across the street being visible and the traffic noise. Neither were an issue!! The music drowned out any outside noise and the space was so nice you don't even notice the next door business. Trees and all the bushes cover much of North ave. Besides the setting, the services were wonderful. They worked very well with all the vendors to make it all come together. Ray, was our contact and he was so pleasant and we felt assured working with him. Lori, was on site in the evening and attended to all requests. We loved most that they made it all easy. We also went with sound by design as a package deal. All around excellent. Thank you again to all who made our day perfect.Best,Sarah and Blake

Cyndi Kramer: An outstanding first visit! Our group of eight was pleasantly greeted and was able to be seated without reservations. Several of our party had never had tapas and they definitely enjoyed the experience. Drinks were good, all the dishes were delicious. Our server was fantastic - she handled a messy separate checks situation with helpfulness and good nature, we loved her! The atmosphere was wood and iron with low lighting and while we were a group, this would be truly wonderful as a romantic night out for couples.

Amy Bier: Julia, and her assistant Trina, were wonderful for a "month of" coordinator. Julia reached out to me initially with a phone call and was very helpful in walking through the timeline and day I had created with my photographer. Julia helped with all the other vendors in the days leading up to the wedding, ensuring everyone would be there on time. Upon arriving to the venue while we were doing photographs, Julia and Trina were helpful in any finishing touches and organizing everyone to make sure everything was set up for the ceremony. Right after the ceremony, they were by my husband and my side, got us a drink, and ensured the rest of the timeline flowed smoothly, from cocktail hour, to our first dance, to getting dinner started with the toasts, and finally a surprise dance my husband's family had prepared for him. Definitely recommend!
Hannah Zurcher: Krista, the owner of Weddings With A Twist the an absolute dream of a wedding planner. We started working with WWAT in January of 2022 for our 2023 September wedding and Krista was there for every step. She made the wedding planning process seamless and handled all the communication with other vendors. She made the overwhelming task of planning a large wedding as easy as it can be, even when she went on maternity leave, her assistant stepped in and was completely up to date on every single thing Krista and I had been discussing. WWAT is very organized and thorough, they made us our own personalized wedding website that kept track of our budget, vendor contracts, mood board, and more. Krista was always easy to get ahold of and very flexible willing to move her schedule around to accomodate ours. During wedding weekend, I was stress free knowing that Krista was going to be present the entire wedding and handling all of the set up so that myself, my husband, and my family could all be present with us and not busy setting the venue up. She also took the time to know us on a personal level, so we did not just feel like clients to her. We cannot recommend WWAT enough, she made two people who really did not want a wedding very very grateful we ended up having one, because the day was absolute perfection! Our wedding was so seamless, my best friend who recently got engaged booked with Krista the day after our wedding because she wanted the same experience we had!!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that we were a happier, less stressed couple because of Krista and her team. Krista was with us every step of the way from venue tours and tastings to the take down at the end of our night. She's incredibly organized, kept us on track during planning, and her tools made everything straightforward. Most people who are getting married haven't done it before and it can be daunting to even know where to start- which vendors to book first, how to find them, keeping up with communication, organizing the information... I would absolutely hire WWAT to take care of all of that again. We had consultations about our vision for each vendor and then options that fit our style and budget just showed up in our inbox already vetted and with confirmed availability for our day. Like, are you kidding me?? Honestly, the best money spent on our wedding and their price was incredibly reasonable for all you get! I didn't have a voice the week of or morning of my wedding which would have been a crisis if we didn't have Krista! She was there and worked with every vendor, double checked that everything was ready as the day was coming up, and the day of I didn't have to lift a finger. You have no idea how nice it was to have someone who takes care of EVERYTHING and just takes you to where you need to be and when. I can't recommend them enough- hire them and then take a breath. They've got this so you don't have to!

There were a few tricky details that I was worried about and Julia took care of all of them. She was friendly, communicative, and detail-oriented. She found multiple issues with our timeline proactively so we could coordinate with vendors to fix them before the day of. And I was very worried we would forget things at the venue since there was a strict cut off policy but she made sure my helpers got every last thing. She was a calming presence and a joy to work with!!

Throughout all the photos she was great about helping keep my train straight, hold my bouquet if needed and help with adjusting my dress straps if I felt they were sliding down. She also assisted with bustling my dress.

Leading up to the day Krista made everything so easy for me and made sure I had my checklist complete! She was super responsive and always made me feel like a priority. Day of she sent Trina and Clare and they were just as amazing! I do not think I would of survived without them. They made it so myself and my family and friends could enjoy the day and not worry about any of the stress. After the issues below, the owner contacted me to apologize and offered to refund me the cost of the piano inspection. I declined, but I admit that the owner did take the steps to correct the issue. If you see further issues from this business be wary, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.Previous 1 star review: They were selling a piano and had advertised it as "cabinet in very good condition a few minor chips, pin block no cracks, type [sic] tuning pins."They did not disclose it had a drink spilled in it, resulting in rusty strings, and that the sound board had 5 visible cracks. They are attempting to scam someone out of thousands of dollars.

Brandon Brown - Roost Photography: I love weddings at Jan Serr Studio! I love how conveniently Jan Serr is located almost as much as I love its modern industrial vibes - it’s a close thing. Located in one of the trendier spots in Milwaukee, it also happens to be right by Black Cat Alley and the Oak Leaf trail granting access to both artistic graffiti walls and a surprising amount of green and trees amidst all the cool east side buildings. The Venue itself is stunning inside and out - concrete and steel and glass - all with a warm feel to it. And the view from the main window is to die for - providing and incredible canvas for all the wedding action!

From the beginning Katie was friendly, incredibly responsive, and so helpful to us through the planning process. She helped us with the layout of the room as well as parking for our guests, signage in the building, and overall just being a great coordinator. The bartenders were AWESOME and we have gotten so many compliments on them from our guests. The space is incredible and with their string lights and the GIANT windows it made the night feel magical. We would 100% do it all again, and I will be recommending them to friends and family.

There is a huge window that was the backdrop for the couple and a nice outside balcony where you have the lake as a backdrop. The dinner was catered by Sam's. Which was excellent. The strawberry, goat cheese and arugula salad did not disappoint. There is street parking or 2 pay lots right next to the venue that are decently priced.

Julie Hamlin: As parents of the bride, we both felt that the night was absolutely seamless and beautiful. Eric and Lisa covered all of the details, even those we had overlooked on our own. The appetizers, meals and quesadilla bar were so good and received high praise from all of our guests. The bride and groom, as well as my husband and I, were able to really relax and enjoy the evening without a worry or responsibility, which made the evening that much more memorable to us. And, of course, the venue itself was so pretty. We highly recommend The Rotunda and Chef Jack's.

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful - our pictures are stunning. We also got so many compliments on the food. I can't recommend The Rotunda enough! So happy with how everything turned out!!!

Diane Kl: Absolutely gorgeous historical building, but with such a touch of elegance, flare and class! We I also love that everything took place in one building. They exchanged their wedding vows the chairs were all set up appropriately. it was a beautiful ceremony. Then we went on for cocktail hour. I’m not sure who the vendor was? But let me tell you it was a charcuterie full of aged cheeses, and all different kinds of Italian meats and sausages. Delicious scrumptious fig spreads with fresh fruit all different types of nuts of variety of different breads and crackers. Then approximately an hour later, it was dinner time. The curtains opened, and the bride and groom came bursting and dancing with the song of their choice and everyone welcomed them as a newly married couple. They danced one song, and then they announced it was time for dinner. Again the food was amazing. It was all Puerto Rican food. Everything from empanadas to Puerto Rican rice just absolutely delicious. I did also notice that the venue owner was going around and filling in wherever he could to help his staff. The staff was absolutely amazing. Clearing tables taking out garbage. I always saw them working extremely hard but they wouldn’t be noticed in the wedding at all.. I actually had a chance to meet with the new owner and he was extremely nice and I told him how beautiful the historic building was. This is definitely a beautiful venue to have your next wedding, baby or bridal shower, reunion, birthday party, or Anniversary party. You definitely want to get a hold of this place! You will not be disappointed!!. Absolutely gorgeous & stunning!!!!

They made us and our wedding party feel like family and were more than accommodating to any wish we had. We had a guest count of 150 and everyone fit perfectly and were still able to create a huge dance floor! Thank you for making our day unforgettable!
Libby Bigolin: The Venue is modern and open, bright and chic. I attended a corporate event in the space and I felt very comfortable. I love how the historical integrity of the venue was kept intact despite their renovations. Rare to find free street parking, on-site parking lot and other public parking structures near by for guests. I had a good experience and will keep them in mind for future events.
