We have a proven track record of offering quality music lessons in the greater Milwaukee area year round. Our full time mission is teaching music lessons and we have been in business since 2004!

Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, our clients enjoy a spacious, professional waiting room with comfortable chairs, games, Wi-Fi, magazines and water, coffee and tea service. ‍Or if you prefer you can sit in on the students' lesson anytime you like. We have an "Open Door" policy for all of our lessons.

Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including pianos.

All you need to bring is your instrument. We have invested in providing a great lesson experience.

Technology is also incporated into lessons at Allegro Academy. This allows students to have a modern and engaging lesson using music teaching apps, music software, Zoom, and more. Feel free to "Bring Your Own Device" to your lesson in addition to your instrument!

One of the things that has really set up apart is our focus on providing lessons that are fresh, new, and engaging. There are so many great teaching apps out there now that we feel enhances lessons and helps engage our students.

It's a challenge to engage children or adults, but by integrating technology such as teaching apps from the iTunes store, GarageBand, etc., we're providing an engagine experience in the Milwaukee area.

Allegro offers free student recitals with a Steinway piano in a first class, acoustically sound professional recital hall.

Our students have the option of performing in our recitals. Students are not required to perform, but many choose to.

Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.​

Parents never have to pay admission or any related fees for these recitals.

My name is Kim Oien (pronounced “Oi-yen”). I teach piano, guitar and ukulele to kids as young as 4 through adults of any age from my beautiful, conveniently located studio in Wauwatosa, WI (West of Milwaukee). As you may guess from my studio name, I also am a big lover of cats!


I am passionate about teaching and sharing my love of playing music and have been teaching for more than 3 decades. I've been told I'm extremely patient and understanding while encouraging students on their journey of learning to play their instrument and love music. “Kim shares her love of music in a creative studio environment that encourages students of any aptitude to grow, learn and enjoy. Her approach is rooted in understanding and embracing each student and inspiring them in their own musical journey.

Private lessons are once weekly for 45 minutes and Buddy lessons have overlapping time between 2 students for group activities. Students will learn repertoire, technique, theory (using games as well as workbooks) and creative playing in a fun and simple way. Lessons are highly individualized to the student’s needs and learning style. Scheduling and tuition are by semester, roughly going along with area school calendars.

We have at least two recitals a year and other occasional opportunities for performances. Group classes are offered 4 times a year. Private and group lessons are also available in the summer.
