A C: I have nothing but great things to say about Treiber & Straub. The location is convenient, and the store itself has a wide variety of beautiful jewelry and luxury watches for sale. While I am a big fan of Cartier and Omega watches that T&S sells, I had my sights set on adding another Rolex to my collection. This was to be my first purchase from this store, after moving to Wisconsin from the east coast a couple years prior.I am no stranger to the way the Rolex market works nowadays, and my SA Lisa was very upfront about this on my first visit last year. It is difficult to obtain a new Rolex at an AD, and there is no way around it. She was not rude or condescending in any way, which is an attitude I have unfortunately experienced at other ADs on the east coast. In fact, Lisa was very helpful and accommodating every time I'd stop in, even though I had changed my mind a couple of times regarding exactly what I wanted.I had expressed interest in a 41mm Datejust, but just this past week stopped by to try on the 41 vs 36mm and felt that the 36mm fit me better. I let Lisa know, and less than a week later she called me to let me know that a watch with the exact specs I had desired was available!It's an absolutely beautiful watch, and the service provided was 5-stars. The Datejust isn't the most expensive watch I own, nor the most expensive watch Rolex offers by far, but on each visit I felt like I was getting white glove treatment like I was buying a solid gold Daytona. This location also has a certified Rolex watchmaker on staff -- I've had my GMT Master II Sprite resized here completely free of charge, despite having purchased at a different AD back east. I was also told that they offer free steam cleaning for watches - for example if taken on vacation and exposed to beaches where the sand may get in between the bracelet links and cause damage/stretch over time.You can bet I'll be back, whether just to chat and see what there is in stock, or when I set my sights on the next timepiece I hope to add to my collection.

Follow me on a little tutorial, adventurer.You know sometimes when you walk in somewhere, and you're instantly afraid to touch anything, and you feel like someone's going to yell at you for doing the wrong thing? Those clinically sterile put-on chic places you feel out of place in, with pictures of celebrities on the walls? Where the staff feel like they're smiling because they have to, and anxious jokes you might try to slide in to ease the tension are met with awkward forced laughs, and a "let's move along because I'm on a script and a timeline" kind of follow-up?Warby Parker isn't that. Think more like a quaint little bookstore coffee shop you'd like to watch the rain from. Think like the staff are the regulars at their haunt, and they hang out just to show newbies the ropes and make them feel welcome. Lighting is effective, but soothing - not like you're standing in a display case under a microscope. So, so contrasting from what it normally feels like buying glasses - seriously, I'd be happy with a grilled cheese and tomato soup, just listening to the employees banter on and help people, and I'd want to take my time spooning the soup in a place like this.I don't know how they nailed that vibe, but they nailed that vibe.The selection of frames is great. For all that talk and all those celebrities on the walls of the huge chains I'm used to, the selection they have is...lackluster at best. I'm very happy with Warby Parker's array of frame choices.And, their staff gave me their focus. I said I didn't know what to pick, and not only did they help me find an array to choose from, but I asked for and I got multiple staff opinions on the selections I had. I have never had an employee give me style advice when glasses shopping, or tell me "that color makes the blue in your eyes dramatic, but it makes your skin look more pale." Let alone three employees willing to just...explain smart choices to someone who doesn't have an eye for fashion. I really, really appreciate the attention to my needs.
